I love Xylitol
I love Xylitol, and have been mostly off of sugar for over a year now. I have systemic yeast, and sugar makes those conditions worse. Since I have switched over to xylitol, I have felt a lot better. The flavor is the most similar to sugar out of any of the other options out there (I have tried them all). The big advantages of xylitol are that it measures cup for cup the same as sugar, and does not have that awful, sour and acidic after taste that sugar leaves. I will only use USA birch, non GMO xylitol. I have ordered it by the 5lb and 10lb bags for well over a year. My kids like it as well. They use it instead of sugar on their cereal, oatmeal, etc... We have even used to it make lemonade, salsa, and sorbet. When I can switch out the sugar to xylitol, I do. It does not raise blood sugars, and it is actually good for you. It is antimicrobial in your mouth and body. Your body naturally makes xylitol to.

This is NOT sugar, as some reviewers have stated
This is definitely xylitol ... I wonder if the complaints registered by other purchasers was due to the product being mislabeled. Comparing these granules to table sugar makes it obvious that the two are not the same.I am using xylitol for health reasons. As xylitol goes, this is a very good product, but xylitol itself is not without its downside. It sometimes causes loose stools, but I've found that my body is more used to it than when I first started using it to replace sugar.

This is more expensive per serving than the individual packets of xylitol that I buy at the grocery store.
Needs 6 grams of this to sweeten my coffee/tea but only 1.5 grams in the packets (of a different brand of Xylitol made from corn). After figuring the costs per serving, the $2.20 for 50 packets is actually cheaper than buying the 5-pound bag of this because I have to use so much more of this. I won't buy again. UPDATE: A fellow reviewer just asked me about the 1.5-gram packets. After looking, they are not 100% xylitol, but rather they are blend with xylitol first in the ingredient list, followed by dextrose with maltodextrin and sucralose. Normally I can't stand sucralose because of the aftertaste it gives (and stevia is the worst!), but these packets don't give off any aftertaste at all, so it must be a fairly small amount. I'm still sticking with the cheaper packets rather than the more expensive 100% birch xylitol just for the cost reasons, and they both taste good.I gave 3 stars because it DOES taste good and leaves no aftertaste, but totally not worth this price.

Birch Xylitol is wonderful!
Finally found a good tasting sugar substitute! And healthy, too! I've noticed several things. One, I've always had weak and brittle fingernails. They have actually gotten embarrassingly ugly with ridges in the last 10 years. I'm 55. I noticed those ridges are almost gone and my nails look so much healthier! I've not changed my diet or done anything different. Two, I've always had a constipation problem. Spent hundreds trying to get colon healthy including colonics, herbs, etc. This keeps me regular. If I consume too much, however, it does bloat and cause diarrhea. Three, my teeth feel somewhat stronger and the enamel is coming back. Yay! All in all, I will keep using it and am very pleased. I put in my iced tea and coffee with some sugar. I haven't brushed with it yet or cooked with it. I've been using it about two months. I would say my consumption has been no more than 2 teaspoons per day. Most days, less than that. I also chew PUR gum occasionally.

this product is NOT xylitol
This was advertised as birch xylitol....the back of package says "Cane Sugar"....noticed color was wrong through package window and the nutrition label says that a tsp serving contains 15 calories which would be CANE SUGAR not xylitol which is usually 9.5 or 10 calories per tsp. I am returning and filing a complaint about false advertising. If you are diabetic and expecting this to be xylitol, you are putting your health at risk

Great Alternative to Sugar - with no aftertaste,
This is the second "variety" of Xylitol I've tried. The first product I mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with regular white granulated sugar and used in tea and on cereal, but I could still taste that "artificial" after-taste. I thought I'd try a different make. This product is totally different and I use it "neat" with no mixing with regular sugar. There's a very slight aftertaste, at first, but after a week I'm totally used to it and use it "undiluted" for all uses. It's a lot more expensive than regular sugar, but very worth while in my battle of keeping diabetes under control.

Great sweetener.
Great price for xylitol and the quality is excellent. I use this daily in place of sugar and even use it to bake treats for my grandchildren, which they enjoy. There is no aftertaste, just a nice, clean sweetness with just a little bit of a cooling effect.

Zylotol works as a sugar substitute, a laxative, and dental tarter control.
An expensive substitute for part of the sugar in my coffee. The stringent aftertaste has to be eliminated with a matching amount of cane sugar. However, the Zylotol in my coffee in the mornings improves my bowel regularity. I recommend it for that. I also chew zylotol chewing gum and plan to brush my teeth with a mixture of it too because it is advertised to prevent the formation of tarter.
