I didn’t think I’d keep this when I first used it to slice a loaf of sourdough sandwich bread, but I used it on another loaf and it did an excellent job. The first was a loaf of VERY SOFT sourdough white sandwich loaf made with King Arthur bread flour and the second was a sourdough fresh milled flour multigrain sandwich loaf that had more structure. The sourdough white loaf is more difficult to slice using a bread knife, so it’s not surprising it was more difficult to slice with this on the day I baked it (after cooling completely). I’m converting all of my baking to fresh milled flour and think this will make slicing extremely quick & easy. The suction cups keep it firmly in place while slicing. I appreciate the stability of the slicer and that the slices are uniform. It is a good value for me.

Works great. The suction cups on the bottom are phenomenal. Does not move one bit. You have to actually get your finger under each suction cup to release it. So be careful putting it in a shelf as it will stay put and is often difficult to take out. So I sit mine in sideways. But as for cutting bread, it works very well, even on soft white bread. I initially looked at a much more expensive German model, but after reading the reviews, I went with this brand. Glad I did. You won’t be disappointed. Great for the home bread maker. Would definitely recommend the deluxe version. The bar prevents bread from falling over and tearing.

I ordered the silver version, and I absolutely love how it looks. The silver finish gives it a premium, sophisticated appearance, and it looks like it will hold up well without easily fading or discoloring. The hand-crank slicing is incredibly smooth and effortless. I tested it with both a relatively firm sourdough bread and a softer toast, and it handled both very well. The slices came out clean and even without requiring much effort. I also really appreciate the thickness adjustment knob on the front panel. Being able to easily adjust the slice thickness makes the whole process much more convenient and customizable. Overall, this product really exceeded my expectations and was a very pleasant surprise. If you bake bread regularly, I definitely think this is a worthwhile investment. I’ll absolutely continue using it for my homemade bread!

I bake about 8 kilos of bread a month and have sliced everything by hand for years. Recently, I decided to try a bread slicer. I first came across one from the Zassenhaus brand a few years ago, but at nearly 4.5 times the cost, around $230, it felt hard to justify. I was happy to see more affordable options become available, even though price and quality often go hand in hand. I have only used this slicer once so far, but my initial impression was very positive. It is very easy to use, and the suction cups on the bottom are a smart design choice that keep it stable on the counter. I also appreciate the adjustable slice thickness. I prefer thinner slices, while my husband likes thicker ones, so that flexibility is especially useful. That said, it is not perfect. Toward the end of the loaf, the slices do start to angle slightly. This could be a quality limitation at this price point, or it could simply be user error since I am still getting used to it. With more practice, I expect this will improve. For best results and easier cleanup, I recommend waiting until the bread is fully cooled before slicing, ideally 24 hours. This helps prevent gummy crumbs from sticking to the blade. I also do not plan to remove the blade, so I will likely avoid using this slicer for breads with add ins like raisins, cheese, or chocolate, as those would require more involved cleaning. Even with its minor imperfections, it is far easier and faster than slicing by hand and produces more consistent slices overall.

If you make homemade bread, this is the BEST slicer! You can adjust the thickness of each slice, and the blade cuts through the load like butter, even crusty sourdough. No more bread knife for me! It even has suction cups in the bottom so it doesn’t slide around. Do it! You won’t regret it.

Had the hardest time cutting even clean pieces of fresh sourdough, now it's not a problem... I hesitated for a while on this purchase because it was pricey but worth the money. Works even on stale bread we have refrigerated for French toast use! Doesn't cut as thick as the plate shows it can go, it just doesn't dial out that much, only goes to about 3/4"-1" thick, good enough for French toast. Wish it came with a cover for safety & storage, this and not so easy to clean are why it got 4 stars (found one that does come with a cover recently but I am not buying another one just for that). Cleaning is somewhat difficult but cutting fresh bread is very easy to do, quick, & kind of fun!

Purchased this bread slicer when I started my homemade bread journey. I like the suction cups at the base of the slicer that keeps the slicer from sliding when using it. The size adjustment lets you cut the bread as thin or thick as you need. It’s easy to use and a good value for the money. Would highly recommend.

This is an incredible bread slicer, especially for the money. I have absolutely no complaints about its performance. The bread guide rail is a game changer in getting slices to push though the blade without stalling. The slice size also stays where it is placed without slipping. It slices expertly. In 2022, I purchased another brand—yes, a famous premium brand—that is 2.5 times the cost of this one. At that time, this premium company did not have a slicer with a bread guide. Their current slicer with a bread guide is 6.5 times the cost of this VANEREPOK version. I’m keeping the Vanerpok and getting rid of the expensive slicer. It’s a no brainer. If you are looking for a bread slicer that will give uniform slices with ease over and over, get this one.

If you make bread, you need this! Can't believe I went 1 1/2 years hand slicing my sour dough loaves. This works so great. Get one with the guide, that way your sliced piece won't fall down on the crank when you're slicing. Throw away your bread knife and get this!

I love making sourdough bread. I dislike slicing it because it is hard to do. To get even slices that are not too thick or thin and get through the bottom crust can be difficult. This is a game changer, the slices are quick, consistent, and a breeze to get through a whole loaf. Yes, it is still messy with the crumbs but you have to deal with that anyway without this slicer. I freeze my loafs so slicing before freezing is mandatory for me.
