Outohome Portable A/C Unit
I purchased this unit to cool a small room that has a closet I use for IT equipment. The unit sits next to a window where the exhaust goes out a small 4” window kit.I am extremely pleased with the portable AC unit from Outohome. It works extremely well. I have it running all the time and it has consistently maintained the temperature of the closet quite well. I have a remote wifi thermometer to keep track of the IT rack and the portable AC unit is doing a great job!Couple of things to be mindful of:- If your area humidity nears 70% or more, you will need to use drain line otherwise it is fine. Been using mine indoors and no issues with water drainage.- Unit really needs to have “clear airflow” which means you can’t block or obscure inlet vents either side. Any blockage changes the metrics for how well it cools an area and also could damage the unit over time.- Unit must be flat to operate properly. I have mine on a small utility shelf I got from Amazon.- Remote control works okay but I found using the keyboard on the unit most useful.- When venting to window, remember that the exhaust pipe can radiate heat as well. I have a thermal A/C exhaust blanket on my exhaust vents to prevent heat transferring into the room.- I am using a small 4” vent kit and it is working well for exhausting the warm air out the window. Amazon has lots of variations of this kit so check the one that suits you.-If you look at the photo, you can see the setting I have is 66 degrees fahrenheit. Using the low fan setting, this comes out to 350 watts on my UPS power meter. Depending on your area, watt usage may vary.As indicated earlier, I am very pleased with the unit and plan to buy another one later in the year. Hope this info was helpful to you. 🙂

No remote, no customer service.
It works, but the fan output isn't very much. It would be OK for a tent. The remote never worked, even with a change of batteries, and Outhome is an outhouse for customer service: no reply when asked to send a working remote. I won't be buying from this company again.

Must Have…For a Roof Top Tent
Perfect for camping looked at several other more expensive, this one was perfect. I would look into upgrading the tubing from vinyl plastic to aluminum insulated, but this work perfect for camping at bastrop state park in Texas summer night in a rooftop tent……get it. Will update in a couple weeks to see how it’s running

Does not meet expectations.
The media could not be loaded. This is a piece of junk. It does not cool nearly enough - as you can see from my video, the max output was 72+ degrees. A better alternative are real portable AC's from like Black & Decker. Save your money by not buying this unit.

Very large but mediocre cooling
This unit is fairly large for a camping air conditioner. It is easy to transport and comes with all of the accessories that you need. It took a few minutes for it to get to its coldest temperature, which did not feel as cool as some other units. It does reduce the temperature and take humidity out of the air. We use it on our boat which gets very hot, venting it out a window. It makes the cabin much more comfortable, and when we use it with the boat's built-in a/c, it helps tremendously. All in all a deceit purchase.

This a/c will make your tent warmer.
Very poor cooling output, but the unit itself gets hot as it runs.Because the heat it give off as it runs exceeds the cool air it produces, this air conditioner actually makes my tent WARMER.

Quiet cooling
Item arrived as advertised with accompanying instructions booklet, accessories and tools. The air conditioner is medium size, well made and easy to maneuver. The functions are pretty straight forward allowing for timer settings or manual run.The unit is virtually quiet when running and provides a comfortable cool environment.I knocked of one star for the price as I'm not sure it's a good price point, but it is a very effective unit with the possibility of use in various situations.
