Outohome Portable A/C Unit
I purchased this unit to cool a small room that has a closet I use for IT equipment. The unit sits next to a window where the exhaust goes out a small 4” window kit. I am extremely pleased with the portable AC unit from Outohome. It works extremely well. I have it running all the time and it has consistently maintained the temperature of the closet quite well. I have a remote wifi thermometer to keep track of the IT rack and the portable AC unit is doing a great job! Couple of things to be mindful of: - If your area humidity nears 70% or more, you will need to use drain line otherwise it is fine. Been using mine indoors and no issues with water drainage. - Unit really needs to have “clear airflow” which means you can’t block or obscure inlet vents either side. Any blockage changes the metrics for how well it cools an area and also could damage the unit over time. - Unit must be flat to operate properly. I have mine on a small utility shelf I got from Amazon. - Remote control works okay but I found using the keyboard on the unit most useful. - When venting to window, remember that the exhaust pipe can radiate heat as well. I have a thermal A/C exhaust blanket on my exhaust vents to prevent heat transferring into the room. - I am using a small 4” vent kit and it is working well for exhausting the warm air out the window. Amazon has lots of variations of this kit so check the one that suits you. -If you look at the photo, you can see the setting I have is 66 degrees fahrenheit. Using the low fan setting, this comes out to 350 watts on my UPS power meter. Depending on your area, watt usage may vary. As indicated earlier, I am very pleased with the unit and plan to buy another one later in the year. Hope this info was helpful to you. 🙂

This a/c will make your tent warmer.
Very poor cooling output, but the unit itself gets hot as it runs. Because the heat it give off as it runs exceeds the cool air it produces, this air conditioner actually makes my tent WARMER.

Portable AC unit
Haven't had a chance to actually use it yet but have tested it and seems to work. Blows cold air. Only issue at this time is the remote control doesn't work. I replaced the battery and still won't operate the unit.

Must Have…For a Roof Top Tent
Perfect for camping looked at several other more expensive, this one was perfect. I would look into upgrading the tubing from vinyl plastic to aluminum insulated, but this work perfect for camping at bastrop state park in Texas summer night in a rooftop tent……get it. Will update in a couple weeks to see how it’s running

Sad Tragic Grave
Remote is defective + the 2 pipes cracked when stretched. Below is the message sent to SELLER begging for functioning parts - Note that I am willing to pay extra to just to get functioning parts. Zero reply from SELLER. Very sad. Very tragic. Very grave. - Could you provide instructions (manual) on how to make the Remote power on? Battery is brand new, but the light bulb button does not light up the bulb at at the remote top. Could you procure 2 extra remotes from the manufacturer? - There are zero --no-- exhaust pipes on Amazon that are 10/12 cm. Could you procure extra pipes from the manufacturer - ship to me with remotes? - Do you have other models of A/C units that are smaller than this 5200BTU i.e. less powerful but smaller in size ? Need more SMALLER units I will have no choice but to return for refund which is very sad if I cannot receive functioning parts above.

Runs quietly. Puts out a lot of cool air. Easy to carry. Long hoses for intake and output.
Our family is encouraging us to camp with them. We have an older conversion van that we travel in with our dog. The problem is getting comfortable at night when the weather is hot. This portable air conditioner looked like a good option. The Good: -The unit is highly portable. It is easy to carry and small enough to store easily. -The extension tubes for air intake and cool air output are long enough that we can put the unit outside of the van and roll the window up leaving enough space to secure the tubes. -The unit runs quietly, and having variable fan speeds and temperature is a plus. -The unit is easy to use. -Having a remote control will allow us to adjust the fan and temperature without going outside. -The mounting plate is a plus. We have a 3-season porch where we can mount that in the window when the temperature is high. The Bad: -Nothing This product exceeded my expectations.

Good
It work good in my truck, but I hope it was little bit cooler

Does not meet expectations.
This is a piece of junk. It does not cool nearly enough - as you can see from my video, the max output was 72+ degrees. A better alternative are real portable AC's from like Black & Decker. Save your money by not buying this unit.
