This replacement is overall as expected for the price. It fit as an OEM size match for the hoses and the included gasket worked perfectly. All that having been said, MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE YOUR COOLANT TEMP SENSOR. I tried to cheat this detail and was sorely mistaken. Upon attempting to use the old sensor, the o-ring was highly compressed and reformed from all the heat ups and cool downs over a period of years. Because of this it caused it to leak like an open faucet. YOU MUST KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS A 3RD PARTY AFTERMARKET PART. Because of that there is sometimes slight differences between. Once I purchased a new sensor (which comes with a new o-ring and retaining clip), it took all of 2 minutes to put in and maybe another 10min of idle time to top off the coolant reservoir. Since then I've driven over 300 miles with no leaks or coolant loss. I'm much happier with the aluminum replacement than another plastic one that will likely only last another couple years before cracking. For anyone wondering, my repair was done on a 2002 MK4 Jetta 2.0.

Excellent fit, easy to install. Huge upgrade from the OEM plastic housing, no burrs or imperfections from the casting. 100% would recommend this part to someone looking to replace or upgrade. Reasonably priced as well.

Good replacement for the usual plastic ones on offer. Didn’t have to worry about over torqueing the nuts and having a plastic one crack. Wasn’t sure if the gasket would seal since it wasn’t like the old one but so far no leaks. When I did this I didn’t drain the whole cooling system, just undid the hose connections and let the coolant drain onto the cardboard and plastic I put under the engine bay beforehand. Didn’t have to add very much coolant once it was completed either since I didn’t drain the whole system. This job is easier if you also buy hose clamp pliers for $7-8.

Great product. I used RTV just in case. Also, note that you should buy a new temperature sensor with an O-ring or a new O-ring, as the old one will likely leak. Excellent!!!

Definitely better than the plastic replacement parts! Had to clean up the slots for the temp sensor retainer clip. But overall decent.

I was a little worried at first because the old flange from my 2004 Jetta 2.0 had a recessed rubber gasket and this one did not. Removed the old gasket and used the included flat one. No leaks, works well. Great price.
