Excellent First Impression
Purchased this as it went on sale and it's leaving a great first impression. I'll hopefully come back and update the review as I get some miles on it, but right from the get go I'm impressed. Installation and Setup was pretty easy. I replaced a Shimano Ultegra R8000 crankset, and this was a direct replacement with no modifications required. The spindle fits perfectly into a Trek BB90 bottom bracket. All of the hardware that requires locktite already has some in place as it ships. My Ultegra 11 speed chainrings fit perfectly with the old Shimano hardware. The crankset does include a set of chainring bolts for use with other chainrings. The only "special" tool I needed was a 44mm 16t bottom bracket wrench to attach the spider to the crank arms. Weight: Crankset without rings (165mm in my case) came in at 620g. With the Ultegra 50/34 rings fitted it came in at 768g. Fit and finish: Cranks shipped in a nice box with foam inserts, well packed. I didn't see any scratches or dings. All of the threads felt relatively smooth. The spindle looks well machined and fit perfectly into my bottom bracket with no slop. Overall it's about what I expect out of modern Chinese manufacturing. Power meter and app: I didn't have any trouble getting the app set up. It connects to the cranks easily, you may have to wake them up by applying a little bit of load. The native app gives wattage output, cadence, and left/right balance readouts. The UI was a little too small to read for me, but my vision isn't great. I personally sync with the Wahoo Fitness app, which will read out power and cadence data, as well as speed, distance, time, etc. It'll even sync with Strava at the end of my ride. It seems to be the best free app if you want all of that functionality. I haven't had any disconnects, but I never updated the firmware. Seems to work just fine on it's current version, so I ain't messing with it! Having the data is great. I can stay within a certain cadence range without thinking about it too hard, and keeping consistent wattage despite elevation and wind helps keep things feeling a lot more consistent. rideability hasn't been negatively impacted. If shifts just fine and doesn't make noise. I'm quite satisfied considering it's an entry level power meter. Time will tell how it holds up, but I'm not expecting it to compare to something more professional grade.

Accurate and high quality
4mo update. I’ve tested this against my Favero pedals, Kickr and power is dead on with the other power sources, I’ve also had zero issues or drops. This powermeter is amazing, best value out there I switched from a Quarq to this and I’m blown away at how good it is. Power matches my 2 Quarqs perfectly. Zero offset is stable with no drift. The only recommendation I have is to pay close attention to the install instructions, while it looks like a standard shimano crank install there are 3 specific steps for tightening down the crankset that need to be followed closley

Love it! Getting a second one for my other bike
Product is amazing. Easy to install, fit perfectly and simple to set up. Recovering from a hip injury and I felt like this product gave me confidence with all of the data. Well priced, I am getting a second one for my MTB bike.

Works great and good value
I’m very happy with this item but two things to be aware of: 1. Be sure you know you know the diameter of bottom bracket or else it will not work and you’ll need to replace that as well. 2. Check the bolt pattern of your chainring or you may need to replace that as well. My bike had a creak in the BB so switching it over and replacing the chainring were already upgrades I was going to make. Very happy with the result and the operation of this device.

Loose fit in BB led to massive vibrations in crankset. Couldn't get support.
I purchased the PS505 with chainrings. Everything appeared very nice, no real issues connecting to my smart watch and getting power data, however I noticed that my crank-set fit very loosely in my Enduro bearings. I measured the ID of my bearings with calibrated calipers from work, and they were exactly 24mm. The crank spindle measured 23.95, which seemed normal to me, however the first moment I used the crankset I could feel a massive vibration throughout the crankset. I had very carefully installed the crankset using a torque wrench according to Magene's directions. I tried contacting Magene for support with trouble-shooting and to see if they could recommend a bb/bearings to use with their unit, however they repeatedly would only reply that the crankset is designed for 24mm bearings, which was no help. I ended up swapping out to a different, one-piece bottom bracket, which also instantly had the massive vibration on the first ride. The vibration occurred while riding shoeless (so not the cleats), and across two different trainers and two different sets of pedals. I checked my chain for wear (not even at the first wear mark on my tool), and checked the chainrings for straightness against a straight edge. I also re-tuned the rear derailleur and serviced my trainer's hub, all to no avail. I finally installed a Shimano crankset that fit much tighter in the BB bearings and the vibration stopped. I also noticed that the small Magene chainring that I used maybe a dozen times while I worked my way through the vibration issue showed significantly more wear than I had on my previous Rotor chainring with over 9 years of hard riding on it. I really wanted this unit to work, and maybe it can, but I could not get rid of that huge vibration that did not exist with my previous crankset, and went away the moment I installed a different crankset.

converted an old exercise bike to measure total workout output
Let me first admit, mine is not a typical usage of this product. I'm 64 and I put a moderate 15-minute spin on my exercise bike every other day, just to "clear the cobwebs". The bike is a 25-year-old felt-pad-resistance type and I keep it on a covered outdoor patio. The problem I encountered is: It's anybody's guess how much work I'm putting out from one workout to the next. Am I doing better? Am I getting worse? The actual resistance is dependent not only on the tension knob but also the weather conditions, the inherent inaccuracy (backlash) of the tension mechanism itself, whether the felt pads are damp, how far pads have heated up from my peddling so far, etc. I want to do a consistent caloric output (or wattage output) on every workout. So I decided to get this metering crank. The nice thing about this is it doesn't matter if your bike cost $5000 or $5, is stationary or road, this measures output at the crank via an internal strain sensor. My exercise bike had a standard (aka Ashtabula, American) bottom bracket (BB), so before I could install this thing I had to do a two-phase BB conversion. Phase one goes from Ashtabula to Euro (aka BSC, BC, ISO, British) See "Black Ops BB Conversion Kit American to Euro", which is essentially just a pair of internally threaded bushings. Phase two goes from Euro to PF41 (aka BB86, PF24, Shimano 24mm) using the Shimano BB-MT801 kit. Look on YouTube if you need your hand held doing either of these. Since my exercise bike had 1/2 thread pedals, I also had to buy a new set. This crank uses standard 5/8 thread pedals. UPDATE: It seems I sold myself short. After months of using this crank and witnessing my performance actually decline, I was a bit incredulous. So I tried the OneLapFit "zero calibration" function for my crank (which I probably should have done immediately after installing). Now my new normal continuous NP power reports as 170W. Take that you young whipper-snappers. Oh, and I also had to get a 4-arm chain ring with 52 teeth and a 110 BCD. The 52 teeth matches my bike's original chain ring, which lacked the bolt holes. The documentation is really sparse. The assy diagrams are good, but there's no text, just pictures. I suppose they're trying to be universal. What do the LEDs mean during charging? Where do I go and download the app? No mention. I'm not a bike mechanic and have never worked on bikes, but the hardware installation went smoothly. Just be aware that most of the parts are dedicated right or left and have right or left hand threads. Don't go forcing anything. Watching the YouTube vids before you assemble is a must. Also, unless you're an enthusiast, you probably won't know this: In order to get a summary of your workout, like I do, you will need a bike computer. Not wanting to do a week of research on what was the best computer to get, I just went with the Magene C406 --which ended up working fine. See my separate product review of that. So now I can report that I can do 170W average power output for 15 minutes and moderate effort, with a 42 cadence, and pretty good left/right balance. That's nothing to be proud of, but probably OK for age 64.

Great!
I've been using this close to a year now and it works flawlessly. Installation was easy enough for an amateur home mechanic to do. It is accurate and consistent. Battery lasts a LONG time; I have charged it maybe 2-3 times in the past year and it's never died on me. Fits Shimano 105 chainrings perfectly. I can absolutely recommend this product.

very loose fit on spider
I tried this one and the geoid version both are overpriced trash in shiney packaging the incredibly loose fitting spider will lead to this device failing rapidly.
