Does this scratch easily?

Scratches extremely easily. I bought one in 2016 and another in 2023. They both scratch the same. But they are very durable. People who say it doesn’t scratch have probably never used them as checked baggage or had to walk with their luggage.

Will this work well as a carry on, for the major airlines?

NO....only the 20 inch is a carry-on the 24 and 28 are check bags

Does this suitcase meet the under 60 linear inches requirement (including the wheels and handle)?

How could the answer be yes when it exceeds 62 linear inches, which on Untied is a $200 penalty charge on top of the regular luggage fee, twice the price of this luggage for a one-way trip? For the 28, outside dimensions per Amazon are OVERALL Dimensions: 31.0" x 20.0" x 12.75", Weight: 11.5 lbs. = 63.75. United and other airlines allow 62" max.

Do the 3 items fit into each other for easy storage?

Yes they fit very well inside one another for easy storage. The luggage has more than ample space to put all you need in it for a week vacation.
