Took this to the islands with me during vacation and it worked great!! I used it in the bedroom every night. There is no smell or ordor. The cartridge it comes with is small and only lasted one night so we bought larger replacement cartridges to last us the rest of the week. Overall, this is a great way to keep mosquitos at bay and sleep soundly. Though, over time, can get expensive with the cartridge replacements.

I live in a very heavily wooded area with a ton of mosquitoes. I like to host outdoor gatherings in my backyard, but I hate having to wear bug spray or risk getting mosquito bites. I tried all sorts of other things, like citronella candles and bug zappers, but none of them were very effective. Consequently, I decided to give thermacell a try. I’m happy to report that it is incredibly effective! Since purchasing it, my family and I have been able to comfortably sit outside on summer nights without wearing bug spray and have not gotten bitten once! The thermacell machine is very easy to set up, use, and recharge. The refill cartridges are not very expensive and are very easy to insert and remove. The machine itself is lightweight, durable, and has a minimalistic and modern design. It is very small, and easy to tuck into a corner or hide behind a potted plant. The thermacell does not generate any odor. It releases a very faintly visible wisp of spray. It is safe to use around kids and pets. It covers a very large area. The cartridges last a long time. This is hands down the most effective and convenient way to prevent mosquito bites!

Honestly useless I put it for an hour. I sit next to it and I got 100 bites not worth it

We live in an area where there aren't a ton of mosquitoes, but the ones we do have are persistent little fellows. They are also the fastest and most agile bloodsuckers I have ever encountered. It is like they have a detection device because as soon as you look at them, they take off. They are huge fans of ankles. Anyway, we bought one of these to try to make our morning coffee and evening cocktails a little less like a visit to the Red Cross Blood Drive. We bought one and the results were sporadic. It seemed to reduce the number and also slow others down enough that you were able to swat them. But it certainly didn't eliminate them. We got a second one and now we put one down by our feet and the other on the table. This has seemed to do the trick (so far). Will follow up as we get more use. They are easy to use, silent, and odor free. As others have stated, they DO NOT work well with even the slightest breeze. And, despite Thermacells claims, it does not have to be a strong enough breeze that it keeps the flying phlebotomists at bay. My only other complaint is how long it takes to recharge. The battery life is not great, and it takes FOREVER to recharge. I really wish you could put rechargeable AA's in it instead. All in all, decent but not great.

I purchased the E90 Rechargeable unit that claims a 9 hour battery life, and included a 12 hour repellent refill cartridge. It was delivered the day after I ordered it. Very quick! This cute little critter killer was easy to setup even though the instructions were NOT very clear, however, after waiting a ridiculously long time (over 4 hours) for it to charge enough to actually use, I was only able to use it for a couple of hours last night and less than one hour this morning. The "refill" cartridge included in the package was LESS than half full of repellent liquid (this can't be normal?) right out of the box. Once it had warmed up and started effusing the "mist", I only used it for a couple of hours, then went to bed. During the time it was in use, I did not get bitten by any mosquitos, but I have no idea if the little critters had simply stopped being active or if the repellent was actually working. Assumed I'd be able to get a better indication of its effectiveness the following morning. Well, it's now the following morning. After powering up the unit and waiting for it to begin effusing the mist, the mist lasted only about 20-30 minutes. So, I removed the top of the unit and looked at the cartridge which was completely EMPTY! This was supposed to be a 12 hour refill!! I got less than two and a half hours out of it. The battery charge indicator says its fully charged. This Thermacell E90 Mosquito Repeller might truly be effective in keeping the critters away, but I think the company owes me a free refill cartridge that is completely full and will actually last the full 12 hours claimed on the box and in their description. Very disappointed by this experience. THERMACELL??
