Mike Phillips' The Art of Detailing Paperback – January 1, 2011

The book is very detailed and follows up with references to further understand what the author is telling you. I found it covers all the basics, and then some on how to detail the exterior of a motor vehicle. Keep the book handy when you get into it, excellent reference for things that crop up during a detailing job.Whether you just want your everyday driver to look good or you have a vehicle you show, this book is the ticket to do the job the right way.

I have read through the book several times already. There have been other books I have reviewed on this topic. This one is very good. Many different products are reviewed to accomplish the task of detailing in an unbiased way. The only thing I wish Mike would have covered first is cleaning of the work area. I know my garage has to be cleaned before starting this detailing and I'm sure Mike would have some good ideas beyond what I have done.

Very useful information for getting a top notch detailing project completed in the least amount of time, Very helpful in helping you make decisions abut which equipment and materials to select. The author is not involved in television programming on the Velocity channel called "Competition Ready" with the beautiful Adrienne "AJ" Janic!

Uhhh, yeah, this book was very disappointing. The book seems to be an advertisement for the products sold at Auto Geek. The author repeated the same tips over and over again in order to fill up space in the book. There were a couple good tips and no real substance. I see Mike Phillips has written a new book....trick me once, shame on you! Trick me twice, shame on me. I will not be purchasing the new book and I am now dubious of Auto Geek and it's associated companies.

As a car detailing enthusiast, I own other similar books. In general, the layout was a little confusing. However, overall the information in the book was extremely helpful.

Mike Phillips is the best in the field of taking care of your prized possession. He tells you in great detail how to use the product, where to use it and what product to use. He's absolutely the best.

The book looks really nice with its glossy pages and lots of picutres. As a beginner detailer, I thought the book was loaded with relevant information. It was all understandable but not dumbed down.

Covers a wide variety of topics, very easy to follow. Covers several tools as described, I found this especially helpful in finding new tools as well as new methods to save time.
