PartsCollection Brand New AIRFLEX SFF21C 4.7" Fan for Sony Projector TV

Got the blinking 4 red lamps on my 60" SXRD Sony Television. Took off the 9 labeled screws off the back cover of the TV and cleaned the original 10+ year old fan. Worked okay for 30 minutes then stopped. Ordered this exact same fan as the original...waited 2 days to receive...spent a few minutes to swap fans...TV is good as new. No fan noise. 5 stars recommended

So i realized a few months back that the reason my Sony TV kept telling me it was overheating was because the fan wouldn't start up or it would jam. Before overheating it would get louder and louder until 2 weeks ago. The loud spinning of the fan wouldn't stop, it was driving me crazy. I tried cleaning it but it never helped. So i decided to replace the fan, the longest part was unscrewing everything in the back so i could get the back of the TV off. Everything else was quick and easy, now i can't hear the fan anymore and i can sleep easy.

This is the exact same fan with the exact model number and everything else as the fan that stopped working for my tv. I bought it thinking it would fix the fan whose wiring was coming unsoldered. Well it convinces my tv that a working fan is in place so now it turns on. The negative? The fan doesn't SPIN!! It is merely tricking my tv so that it will go until it overheats- I received a overheating warning in the screen. Well....cheap crap,

2nd one we bought from them, last one we bought over 4 years ago. Have had to clean the dust out a few times recently, and will need to install this soon.

I ordered the fan based on the suggestion of a repairman. The fan worked but my TV still didn't. So I had to return the fan. An employee emailed right away and asked if they could do anything else to help. I had given up on the TV and recycled it after the fan wasn't the fix. (a very old, sad TV) So they refunded me right away and didn't charge me a re-stocking fee like a lot of places do. Nice friendly people and my part actually arrived a day early.

It was not the replacement fan needed even though your site actually said it was. But I jury rigged it to work and we will see what happens over time.

An unimpressive performance. Luckily I bought two of them (we have two TV's) and I installed the spare today. Both are exactly the same as the original fan, which lasted over ten years. The other TV fan has functioned for over 12 years, so maybe I was just unlucky with the one that failed after seven months. However, it seems like others have had similar experiences and it does trouble me that the supplier offers no warranty information. If this fan fails early I will replace the TV!
