Not great coverage with black
If you want a pitch black stain, I wouldnโt recommend this. I sanded pine to 320 and applied 4 coats of this stuff and itโs still not great coverage.

A True Black Stain
๐ค What I loved about this stain: Water based, easy clean up, True black with a Matte/Flat finish. ๐ค Application: Mini Foam roller with Tray ๐ค How I used it: Stained my work desktop,and since this worked so well I stained a wooden wind chime that was faded on my deck! I chose not to add a clear gloss coat because it looks more modern without it. Great product! ๐ค

Good budget stain
Great and budget conscious for those who want to tackle DIY jobs- even professional ones! Used it on a DIY pallet wood table Iโve done. Always seal with something.

Works Great!
I started by using a wax wash remover on an old pine filing cabinet, then applied roughly 1.6 bottles of black stain to achieve the finish. It took about six applications spread over a week, but the result turned out great with a clean, even look. The product has no noticeable odor, and when a small amount spilled on the carpet, it cleaned up easily with just soap and water. I would recommend wearing gloves during use. I applied the stain with a washcloth, and noticed that areas I hadnโt cleaned thoroughly required extra work. For the best results, I recommend making sure the surface is well-prepared and free of wax buildup before applying the stain.
