Can this be used for gouache?

The painter lite can indeed be used for Gouache! We also have a dedicated artist palette on the way, designed specifically with Gouache and heavy body acrylic in mind.

What are the differences between this and the regular/non lite versions?

The main differences between palette lites and V2 palettes are: Our V2 palettes have an advanced sealing system that requires no strap band. The palette lites come with single use hydration papers - V2 palettes come with reusable membranes (however upgraded membranes can be brought separately to fit the palette lite) Finally, the V2 palettes are larger so you have more surface area to paint on. The painter lite is more compact and preferable if there is limited desk space. Hope this helps!

Will this hold up to Tamiya enamels, with appropriate thinner?

Apologies, we would not recommend using any enamels on the wet palette.
