This large glass mixing bowl has been perfect to use for many baking projects, e.g. cakes, bread, pizza, etc. It is nice and heavy, and has sufficient volume for most (i.e. 2 - 4 cups flour) baking recipes. It would be an overkill for smaller batches of dough and may be limited for larger batches in terms of depth. Overall it has served me very well for all of my baking projects so far.

This is a solid glass bowl with a lid that fits pretty airtight. I use it mainly to proof pizza dough and it is excellent when comparing the price of this item to other bowls. It’s nice and deep, wide and the lid snaps into place very well. When compared to other bowls, the price is excellent, the depth of the bowl is much better than many other bowls and the width of the the opening is also better than most other bowls. Highly recommended.

Love this bowl for it's size and shape. I thought at first that it would be a bit taller from counter to top, but it makes up for that in it's width and the depth that it has. It cleans up very well after use with all the oils and sauces used for completing a dish. 1000 times better than the plastic type bowl that I've used for years to mix recipes in. I knew that I had to venture out and find something better when I noticed that the "old" plastic bowl wasn't releasing oils and sauces even with hot water and the rubber scrubber, I had to do the white paper towel test and was always shocked that it wasn't clean. BUT NOT with this clearly more functional and well-made crystal bowl. I like that it's weighty, but I have to be very careful that my hands are grasping it well, because I'm tiny and the bowl demands to be handled with a firm grip. This NEW bowl looks GREAT and the top was a little difficult to fit to close, but I decided that I would put them together in some hot soapy water and let them sit with the bowl upside down and the top attached as closed as I could get it and waited a while (like 20 minutes or so) and then tested out the fit after using the bowl to mix my dish and after washing it; I then realized when it was time to put the bowl into the cabinet that the TOP needed only a little tight firm snap to fit onto the bowl. The key was to start sealing it from the side of the bowl against my body and moving my hands forward until I got to the area that did not smoothly close down. Now I will see how difficult it will be to OPEN, now that I have it closed. I am very happy that I made the decision to go ahead and purchase this NEW BOWL. It's a thick bowl and looks like it will last a long times if it never hits the floor. I think it was a fair price that I paid for it and I'm glad I decided to purchase it with the top, after reading that it was difficult to fit closed from other commenters.

Quality is really good. Thick glass! it is wide and great for mixing. I got this for mixing and marinading chicken and it works great. I could not find such a size with this durability anywhere local. If you bake or cook, this is a must have for your kitchen.
