This book is all encompassing and provides an eclectic mix. It covers not only the history and technical aspects of the cab but an insight into the London Taxi trade and Hire Office. I had not realised how and why the Austin origins were relinquished, to Carbodies, and also that so many engines were tried some of which were blatantly unsuccessful.All that remains now is for to me to go and spend 6 months in a Taxi garage!
