Put 880 in its case>case top presses keys>light remains on all the time 880 is in case draining battery. Key lock does not fix this.

One of the hidden features turns the light off. Pressing the 5 with the radio off toggles between off and normal (auto) for the light. There are quite a few hidden settings for this radio. An internet search for PL880 Hidden Features will give you more information. I have not used this setting.

How do you charge the battery?

The radio automatically goes into charge mode when the radio is on off and you plug in the 5.1 charger supply (Not included). However, old cell phone plug in the wall chargers work as long as it's 5.1 volts with the appropriate jack to plug into the radio. You can also charge the radio off of any USB output plug. It not only charges the PL880 but it also puts a timer on the display which shows how long it has been charges and shows the stop time when it is fully charged. If you have the appropriate charger, you can also remove the battery and charge it but the radio does a great job on charging the battery. I get about 14 to 16 hours of use off the battery per charge.

Why won’t my battery charge?

It only charges the battery when it's off. Using a USB voltage and current meter, the pl-880 draws 1 ma @5v on with or without the battery. When off, it draws 37ma @ 5v, when the battery is in the radio.

What is the firmware version?

Do not know, but it works well. There is no frequency drift or bleeding.

Excelente radio multibanda.

Soy fan de Tecsun!. Este es el segundo radio que compo en Amazon y la recepción es excepcional. He logrado captar mis emisoras favoritas de la onda corta y decodificar el shortwave radiogram sin una antena externa. El audio es bueno, pero no tanto como el del eton elite field.

Sonido y sensibilidad

Muy bien terminado buena sensibilidad y selectividad algo peor ,posiblemente sea culpa mia de todos los led y electronica que tengo cerca,veo criticas de la AM que aparte de la banda lateral soy un forofo de ambas bandas en am prueben a tener el interruptor de ganancia en Dx sino algunas mas distantes no le llegaran,yo e echo comparaciones con el tecsun pl 330 y el xdata d808 creo que es ese, el que tiene ssb y este el pl-880 les da, veinte bueltas para mi personal con una escala de 0 a 5 mi puntuacion es 4,8,hay lo dejo.
