Amazing espresso machine
I was looking for an espresso machine that was easy to use, easy to clean, and that made great coffee. I purchased this on prime day and I am extremely satisfied. It met my three criteria and then some! First, this has to be the simplest to use espresso machine on the market. You put the beans in, fill the water tank, and it pretty much does the rest. When it's done you just empty the puck (into the trash or into a bucket to save for your garden, but not into the sink!), rinse it out, wipe the machine down, and you're ready for the next one. It also makes delicious espresso...which of course is highly dependent on the beans you use. I've brought this to work multiple times to make espressos or lattes for my team and they loved it. The portability was a feature I wasn't necessarily targeting when I bought it, but the smaller size allows for easy transport. It also holds sufficient water to allow for many cups without refilling. This is definitely worth the purchase and it has come through for me over and over again. It functions exactly as expected and helped expose me to a whole new way of enjoying coffee. I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a smaller espresso maker that doesn't want to break the bank.

We love it! ๐
**Edit: It started leaking really bad from underneath and now from the sides. I called Phillips and was on video call for them to see what it was doing for 40 minutes. After all that they said they would email me with a proposed solution in 24-48 hours. That was 5 days ago! Iโd like someone to get back with me please! Seems like weโve been forgotten.** We are loving this machine! Makes a great cup of espresso/coffee and itโs super simple and easy to use and clean. Itโs super quick too! Makes the cup of coffee before the milk frother is done! But both are making a far superior cuppa than what we had before and weโre really enjoying it. Plus it looks cute on our coffee cabinet in the kitchen. Love the design.

Good espresso machine
Easy to use. It will save your time to make the coffee. You can choose to make an espresso or a lungo. The user manual can be downloaded from their website. Be sure to clean before the first use and after each use. It may not be as good as a thousand-dollar machine, but with this price, it is good enough.

Easy Espresso, But still Good Espresso
When I first saw the Baristina, I was a bit skeptical. We were about to move to a new house and I wanted a replacement for the espresso machine that I received as a wedding gift 20+ years ago and happened upon an ad for this machine on, I believe, Twitter. Anyway, I have been shocked at the quality of the espresso this machine produces. I'm a tiny bit of a coffee snob - not even remotely as particular as some people that measure every drop of water and every coffee ground, have lab-quality equipment with bunson burners, beakers, centrifuges, and the like to make a cup of coffe in the morning (who has time for that?) - but I DO appreciate a well-made cup of coffee. I feel this is the perfect balance between ease of use and quality of espresso. Using the machine is ridiculously simple. Fill the water tank with water, fill the coffee bin with whole bean coffee, select a brew (espresso or lungo), whether to "intensify" that brew, and slide the handle to the right. Then wait a few minutes and you have espresso (or lungo). I find I like the flavor of the espresso slightly more than the lungo, but I tend toward the lungo because it produces more coffee per pull. Empty and rinse out the portafilter, replace it in the machine, and you're ready for another cup. Easy peasy. Cleaning the machine is pretty simple. I purchased some coffee pot cleaning tablets, dissolved them in water, and ran cycles according to the instructions. The machine tells you when it's time to clean. My ONLY complaint about the device is that I've had it for about six months and the handle hangs going from the grind to the brew stage of the brewing process on a regular basis. This started about a month and a half ago. I'm not sure how to fix it, but it's a minor inconvenience at this point. Otherwise, I'm impressed by this coffee maker. It has replaced my Cuisinary 12 cup grind-and-brew for 99% of my coffee making. And it's infinitely better than any K-Cup-based coffee maker I've ever used.

Easy and Good Espresso
If youโre looking for a good cup of espresso coffee, this is a great and easy way to brew. The grinder works well and based on your settings, it automatically places the correct amount of coffee in holder. No need to tamp down before. Coffee and water settings can be changed from the factory settings. Just buy the freshest darkest beans that you can find.

1-Star Junk
At first, the machine seemed great. It made decent espresso and everything felt smooth. Then, after about 5 months of normal use, the problems started. The portafilter began getting stuck halfway on its way back. It would stop in the middle, and the machine could not finish the cycle. A few days later it got worse. The machine basically died. It stopped responding to button presses and the buttons only flashed, like it was stuck in an error mode with no way to recover. Only after that did I read more reviews and realized I am not the only one. Many people report the same failures, and there are lots of comments about support being unresponsive, with no real help, replacement, or compensation. Unfortunately, I found that out too late. So I opened it up, and what I found was shocking. A small white connector that looks cheap and poorly protected, with visible discoloration that suggests oxidation or contamination. The portafilter position Hall-effect sensor PCB has clear corrosion and white crusty residue around multiple components and solder joints. Electronics should not look like this inside a kitchen appliance that deals with water and steam. Inside the machine, there is a yellow zip tie that appears to be installed from the factory to hold parts in place. That is not a proper mount or repair, it looks like a shortcut. Root cause of the portafilter sticking: Coffee dust and tiny grounds collect on the rail mechanism. Once that happens, the friction increases and the spring is too weak to push through it. So the portafilter jams halfway unless you constantly clean the rails. For a machine in this price range, that design is unacceptable. Bottom line: this machine is built with poor materials, poor sealing, and questionable assembly choices. Mine worked briefly, then turned into a flashing, unusable box of plastic. I strongly recommend avoiding it.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
This easy to use espresso machine worked beautifully, producing a great tasting cuppa...until it DIDN'T! When building up steam to brew, it began to leak, then more and more water until it was coming out all around the front. I called Philips, took video and was on the phone with them forever... that was a month ago and still no refund, replacement or resolve. I was told then and every time I've called, (sometimes even speaking to the same CR rep from previous calls) that I would be contacted by Philips within 24-48 hours... so far no email, no call, no refund nor replacement. We are moving into the 5th week of this poor customer service. BUYER BEWARE!
