Works with 6 burner Monument Grill.
This works well with the grates on the Monument 6 burner porcelain grates. How, not sure how long will hold up because it's very lightweight (thin) build. But the one for the Big Green Egg is too robust.

Really works well on heavy grates, especially when they are hot
I use this on our Broilmaster grill. Those grates are heavy duty and they can be flipped to lower heat or decrease heat near the flame. I find this as import of a tool as I do the grate cleaning brush and I am glad for the purchase.

Great product
I have cast iron grates on my grill and this lifter makes moving them around a breeze (no more grease on my hands). I have holes in my grates that are specifically for this. I can take them off when they are hot or cold to clean the diffusers underneath. Transporting them around with this is very effortless and placing them back on the BBQ is a snap. There is a little bit of a learning curve to get the right technique down, but be patient and you will get it. It does have a wooden handle so I don't know how this will hold up, but I have had it for years now and has not failed me yet. As another reviewer stated the handle is not very ergonomic, but for the intended use and short time you will use it at any given moment, not a big deal. I would recommend this and would buy this again.

It lifts grids...
I use a BGE and most often a cast iron grid. The size and weight of the cast iron over the stainless steel means the scissor grip grid lifters wont work. This is a nice way of doing it to accommodate multiple types of grids. My complaint would be that I sometimes have to search around for a spot on my grill where it will fit between the bars. I can usually find one but it takes a few tries. The price is great, the quality is good (so far), definitely a good purchase.

Cool idea, works, but Cheap and will break early
The thing is great for lifting hot grills and works as it should. Unfortunately, the construction is rather cheap and mine broke halfway through the first summer of its use. A small tack weld could correct this issue if one had the resources.

Great when used within its limits
I've got an older Weber genesis grill with stainless grates. (has three knobs on the right side stainless table) This lifter works great on my grill and has been a reliable tool for the past couple of years. I use it to angle/lift up the hot grates so I can fill up my smoker box or toss in a smoke bomb or two. For that purpose, I can't think of a better option than this tool. My hands stay well away from the heat source. If I were lifting the entire grate out, I'd want something else however. Even with the lighter stainless grates, all that weight hanging off of the end of this tool is just asking for trouble. If those grates were hot, it would probably lead to burn. I mean really, who wants to lift around five to six lbs of hot metal with this thin handle and tiny prongs? My tip, would be to look for a tool that takes advantage of gravity and not leverage if you frequently need to remove a grate. Simple hooked metal rods do the trick in that case.

Does the job.
Well made, works as I would expect it to. Very convenient to be able to lift the very heavy grids off of my grill, especially when the grill is hot.

Get a grip
My Weber grill did not come with any tools allowing the easy removal of the greasy cooking grates. I found this on Amazon and love it! Very sturdy and easy to handle, it allows me to pick up the grates and keep them well-balanced when moving them. I keep a smoker box in my grill and I use this tool regularly to remove the grates to get to the smoker box. Shipper sent everything on-time and well-packed. Would definitely buy again.

Sher hochwertig verarbeitet.

Works as advertised. Keeps my hands clean when lifting the grates on my BBQ. Useful for cleaning inside grill without getting completely covered in grease and soot.
