Sceptre 50-inch 4K UHD Ultra Slim LED TV 3840x2160 MHL Metal Black

I bought this TV to use as a reliable, user-friendly desktop monitor, and it works great. I wanted one that will stay on all day without an automated power save mode that requires a wakeup every 20 minutes. (Just threw away an LG that had a power save mode that could not be turned off, and had no product support) Sceptre picture is vivid and I have had zero problems after 4 months. Most of the sound I listen to are YouTube videos where concert hall quality is not needed. At the price, this TV could be replaced once a year and still be a fair value. As for being labeled a "dumb tv", I disagree. It is a TV with basic features that are well executed. It is not a smart tv that is loaded with many unwanted and useless features. As for sound quality, what do you expect from the least expensive TV? If you want concert sound, buy a sound bar.

I don't like those smart TV's. Don't use most of the things they offer and it costs too much. This TV is really nice and has a beautiful picture. Was very easy set up and I hooked up my fire stick to it and all is well. No complaints. Very good TV for the price. Would recommend this to anyone.

This was a purchase for my son, a gamer. The price was way better than better known brands with smaller screen sizes. The picture bid magnificent, using a 4k fire stick to watch 4k content. But for the price there must be something limiting. Right? That would be in the sound department. The sound is terrible. But a sound bar cleared that problem right up. Even with the cost of a sound bar the purchase was a great value.

Let's not screw around, this is definitely not the greatest 4K television you can get your hands on, it's is a pretty awesome piece of television for how much it costs. I love it, I feel like if I paid a bunch of money there would be things I could point out, but for the price this thing is one nice, large, fully functional, and really a good looking T.V. Be realistic about how cheap you are being, this is a big 4K tv, and you'll be very satisfied with your purchase.

The sound is the worst I have ever heard no matter how much adjusting. I was going to return but it's so much trouble to safely take to UPS. I'm just adding a sound system. If I purchase another tv down the road, I'll check it out in store first. To be honest, for the price, it is alright. Time will tell if it lasts. 7/15/22 - update to my review. Yesterday the HDMI plugs stopped working so No Streaming. The tv works with the coaxial plug and the antenna, the optical outlet for my stereo works but not the rest. I contacted Asurion about my 48 month protection plan, and they nicely suggested the manufacturer warranty was still good and I should file a warranty claim and save the protection plan for later. I followed their direction and went to Sceptre.com and filed and was told I would receive an RMA by email within 2 days. I then read that Sceptre required that I box and take the 50" tv to ship to them and I am responsible to pay the shipping and if it is damaged they are not responsible. WHAT!? I called Asurion back and told them I must use the Protection Plan now and if the tv breaks down again, then I'll just get rid of it. They are sending a repairman in a few days to fix it in home. DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU GET THE PROTECTION POLICY.

For the low price I give 5 stars. It has an excellent 4k picture for the price, (tested with a ps4 pro using God of War and Spider-Man). The sound is the only thing I tend to not like it's not the best quality but it does the job and its not really a problem for my situation mostly using headphones in our game room and that's nothing an external stereo or soundbar cant fix. No it's not a 3000$ Sony tv but for the price I doubt the quality can be beat.

Customer support is 8:30 am to 5:30 pm PST M-F - i.e. worthless for people who work. I plug in my home theater and I get no sound, none from DVD, Bluerays, or CD. Unplug TV and CD plays great. No help on their website - this thing going back to Amazon if I cannot Google the problem. Nice metal back case, small form factor mounting point (funny as I was replacing 43” with a 49”) Ordered up to date HDMI cable - still kills sound. Seems to be some sort of copy protection handshake issue as Chromecast works fine. If I have to update Blueray player to make this work I am not sure I am going to keep it - will ship it back. Ok still does not allow sound to play when connected to home theater - that and business hours only support for a home entertainment item will only merit a three from a 1 start review. If I connect my BlueRay in direct I get sound, speakers are ok but the fact that this has some sort of copy protection system that is not at all referenced on the support site is killing two stars. Crap support. Decent packaging, nice picture, ok remote (copy of old Vizio remote) Delivered by Ontrac a day early OMG better than a day late or never. I feel listing the shipper is relevant as my recent history with cut rate shippers now must factor in what I order so anyone on the west coast beware this item ships with Ontrac (another reason it cannot get 5 starts).

My husband and I purchased this item this past Xmas. That's why I'm just now doing a review. We bought this as a gift for ourselves. It's a wonderful K5 smart TV. It's has a beautiful picture it's really clear and it gives you the feeling of a movie theater. It has great sound and it will do just about anything. Highly recommend it. 5 🌟 review
