Kewpie Mayonnaise 450g | Rich, Umami-Packed Japanese Mayo

This is my favourite mayonnaise. It’s Japanese, the most popular mayonnaise brand over there, and is made with egg yolks only, so it’s creamier than western mayonnaises that use the whole egg. I also find it more tangy than western mayonnaise. It has rice vinegar instead of distilled vinegar. This brand is widely available in UK supermarkets for cheaper than here on Amazon. The reason I bought this one is because it’s made in Japan, the ones in the supermarket are made in Poland and I’d read that the true Japanese ones taste even nicer. However, I couldn’t taste any difference at all between them. This is a really great mayonnaise and I’d recommend trying it.

Kewpie mayonnaise is god tier. In my opinion, it’s tastier than the mainstream brands in the UK. The rest of my family has switched to Kewpie. Just wish it was a bit cheaper.

This is the authentic Japanese one. I’ve bought it for my niece who loves sushi and Japanese foods, she can’t get enough of it!

Oh boy, where do I even start with Kewpie mayonnaise? I mean, this stuff is like a party in your mouth - and not necessarily a good one. First off, the bottle itself looks like it's straight out of a 1970s sci-fi movie. I half expected it to start beeping and flashing at me like some kind of intergalactic distress signal. And don't even get me started on that creepy little Kewpie doll on the label. Is it just me, or does that thing look like it's plotting to take over the world? As for the mayo itself, well, let's just say that it's definitely an acquired taste. It's thick, gloopy, and has a weird tangy flavor that's hard to describe. It's like someone mixed together a jar of regular mayo with a bottle of vinegar and a dash of soy sauce, then left it out in the sun for a few days. But hey, if you're into that kind of thing, go for it. Kewpie mayo is definitely not for the faint of heart. Personally, I like my mayo to be a little more... normal. You know, like the kind that doesn't make you feel like you're eating an alien condiment from another planet. Overall, I give Kewpie mayo a solid "meh." It's not terrible, but it's not exactly a culinary masterpiece either. Unless you're a die-hard fan of weird, tangy condiments, I'd say stick to the regular stuff. And for the love of all that is holy, keep that Kewpie doll away from me.

It must be so close to the sushi mayo that I can't tell the difference! The actual mayonnaise itself is thick, viscous as hellmans. But better for the price. I'm so obsessed with this specific mayonnaise, that I'll probably go bankrupt! Even though it really isn't very expensive. Tastes like a flavour bomb.

El producto me llegó en buenas condiciones, viene dentro de una bolsita de plástico transparente sin daños. El sabor de la mayonesa es delicioso. Llego rapidísimo (mismo día que lo pedí).
