I purchased this toy for my 4 year old nephew, so far he hasn’t destroyed it. I guess it really depends on the child.

Does this come with the thingy on top to hang it?

He was playing with it just last week took it to school. I don’t recall any hanging loop on it.

Amazing quality, has held up really nicely.

My son had never really been into security blankets or stuffed animals or anything, but I bought him this stuffed shy guy for Christmas a few years back and he's slept with it practically every night. Now I will forever have fond memories of the silly character, Shy Guy. 10/10
