Most people I guess use this for gun ranges and whatnot. For that it must be great. I tried to use it in a library / work environment. It provides quite a good sound isolation but it is realllllllly tight around my head. I've kept this thing stretched for a full week before properly using it, it was still squeezing the hell out of me. Double this up with some ear canal blockers, you hear virtually nothing. Good for short term use. Not something you would wear for more than 10 minutes. Too tight!

After spending Saturday afternoon for 3 hours with a backpack blower - my ears were SERIOUSLY ringing - like being at a loud concert as a teenager. They were thicker than they appeared in the photos and left side does fold back into collapsible format as it did when out of the box. I give it a 2 in the review because the ad says "dB – Highest Hearing Protection Ratio Earmuffs Help Silence Your World “ In A Snap ”. My husband is a hunter and he kept saying - buy "Peltor" - so I guess this is my next step, because losing hearing over yardwork is not worth it.

I just added light carpentry and woodworking to my handywoman repertoire and the noise of power-tools was maddening to me. These headsets help me get in the zone. The size is massive for my tiny ears and smaller head (okay laugh away :) ) but that just makes them that much more effective. I actually prefer to sleep with white noise so cannot comment on the improvement of sleep quality, but for my garage, these are absolutely imperative, now that I am addicted to the silence they offer.

I was torn for a few weeks between these, and the following ear muffs and thought it would be handy to order all of them, and share my thoughts, in the vain for saving other buyers, Amazon, the sellers, and all the resources that go into making, shipping, returning stuff that you know won’t work right out the gate. Here goes. I got: * Razors * Pro For Sho * Clear Armor * Peltor Sport Ultimate (by 3M) I wear these in noisy concert halls, on airplanes, at my gym to workout, because they like to blast techno at Lifetime Fitness and forget they’re just a gym, not a nightclub, and when operating machinery (I’m a handy lady landlord), and to sleep when in a snoring environment. In quick detail: -> Peltors are way too tight all around the muff, pressing into my temples and jaw hinge etc (and I tend to have a smaller/medium sized head) - I had a headache within a couple of hours, though in terms of sound insulation, they were the best, very good sound insulation. But I can’t wear them, too painful, so I’m returning them. Overall pretty good quality. Pretty adjustable and fit was otherwise good. Ear muff material seemed a little in the cheap side. -> The Razors are too tight at the base of the ear, pressing hard into my lymph nodes at the intersection between the top of my neck, back of the jaw, under the ear. Pressure in lymph nodes is not good, so they’re going back. They were adjustable, and overall, seemed like better quality than the others. -> Pro For Sho - too soon to tell. On initial fit, they don’t seem too tight so I’m hoping after a longer trial they’ll work because they are sleek (which would be easier to sleep and travel with). The sound insulation is not as good as the Peltor or Clear Armor, but I’m not on a runway or operating that loud of machinery that it really matters that much. Will update review after a longer trial wear. -> Clear Armor - also good fit (not too tight) during first try fitting. They are NOT low profile, so less desirable but the sound insulation is excellent, like the Peltors, and better than the two low profile Razors and Pro For Shos. Will also have to test a longer fitting and see what happens. Stay tuned. Will post videos of the other muffs on their proper sites since I can only upload one video in each spot.
