Pacsafe Unisex Retractasafe 250 Retractable Cable Lock

I use it to lock my bike saddle to my cable lock when securing my bike at work. Granted, this would be woefully insufficient in a high-crime area; but it suits my needs just fine. While it wouldn't deter an experienced bike thief, it does provide enough frustration for someone looking to steal a bike saddle as a crime of opportunity to serve as a reasonable deterrent. Works well, and is as secure as expected, given its size. I love that I can just stash it in the little under-saddle bag on my bike.

I normally like Pacsafe products, but this particular one is total JUNK. It was poorly made, the lock did not work at all and overall design was inferior to what I expected. Save your time and money.

Bought to wrap my son’s two expensive baseball bats, expensive glove, and gear within the whole baseball bag during the school day until practice after school. Wrapped around each bat twice, pooped through bag handle, through glove and back out and even through the zippers to close tight. Thrilled.

They sent just the lock with no instructions. It was already locked and I have no idea what code to use to unlock it or set up my combination. It was set with all zeros

Really nice quality lock, but doesn't fit in size the zipper holes of my gun bag. Will use it for something else!

I bought this product when sailing from Oban to Falmouth, and so having to take a large duffel on the train to Oban via Edinburgh, and home from Falmouth. The lock was relatively easy to use, however, I had a nasty moment when arriving at one station where I had to change trains and couldn't immediately get it unlocked. The problem was my code contained 22 which shows as zz, it therefore looks the same whether read from either side of the lock. Once I realised I was looking at the lock the opposite way round, all was well. It not only kept the bag safe, but also stopped it tipping over into the aisle.

Little bit heavy, but it is easy enough to set up for use. It's no good for securing zips (use a plastic zip tie if you want a symbolic gesture of security for your zip). The cable lock is good for slowing down/detering opportunistic thieves, secure your bag to something very heavy or better, to something that's bolted down, and that should make most thieves at least pause. Also, don't leave the bag unattended (that should be common sense, but it happens way more than it ought to).

I bought two of these in the end, because I couldn’t believe I’d mucked up the instructions to set the code. Having set it, I couldn’t unlock the first one, so I tried a second one. Same problem. They were either both faulty or I am a complete idiot (which I assure I am not). Don’t waste your money.

Bought this to secure my backpack while travelling, the cable is too big to fit through the zippers on my pack so had to buy some other locks for them, however it will be useful to secure the pack to a more immovable item to stop or slow down an opportunist thief.The outer case is plastic so I am not sure how robust it will be, only time will tell.
