Does this work with milk kefir? All images are water kefir.

I do use them on Milk Kefir jars sometimes, but the design lends itself to Water Kefir better as the holes are pretty small on top, and thicker kefir will not strain as well. But the top is functional otherwise.

Does anyone actually strain milk kefir through the part with holes and then add more milk? I did not realize these were really for water kefir.

In the North America, standard-size Mason jars are made of soda-lime glass and come in two sizes: regular mouth, 2 3⁄8 in (60 mm) inner and 2 3⁄4 in (70 mm) outer diameter, and wide mouth, 3 in (76 mm) inner and 3 3⁄8 in (86 mm) outer diameter, versions. If you 32 oz mason jar is a wide mouth jar ( 3 3⁄8 in (86 mm) outer diameter) then yes the Kefir Caps will fit.
