Great little radio and a bargain
I bought this as an emergency radio for my go bag for disasters. Pulls in AM and FM stations clearly and easy to tune. Loud and simple to tune. SW is decent, as well. For the price point, an excellent purchase.

Least Expensive Shortwave Set Works as Expected
I give this radio four stars for a $6-$10 radio. You are not going to get a high-performance DXer at this price. But this set has proved more useful than some other cheap radios I've picked up at dollar stores. The radio's strong point is its FM band. It picks up all the usual stations. It is digitally tuned off an IC chip, so it has that "choppy" tuning. One advantage to that is there is no bleedover from adjascent stations or stonger stations down the dail. The FM stage has good gain. The AM band picks up the strongest local stations available, and isn't much different form other bargain radios over the last 20 years. There isn't as much gain as on FM, and there appears to be no AVC, as volume depends on signal strength. The shortwave band functions. It runs from 5.9 to 18mHz in one band, so tuning is finnecky. You have to turn the dial extremely slowly as the digital tuner jumps from one signal to the next. That being said, the tuning thumbwheel is not too loose or too stiff, and makes the challenge as easy as possible. The tuner also has a bit of slack in it, which is to your advantage when rocking back to catch a station. I received all the shortwave stations my other portable radios picked up. Those of lower strength had intelligibility problems. This radio contains one unusual feature, a single LED flashlight. It does illuminate 10-15 feet ahead so you won't trip in the dark. Overall, I can't knock the AA-X2 much for a new radio that cost less than $10. It performs best on FM.

Itโs portable
I bought this to use if we have a power outage. I only have it for 1 day but I tried it right away and it worked fine. We recently had a tornado warning and yes I have a cell phone but if your battery goes dead on your phone then what? Iโll have the radio to hear whatโs going on and you canโt beat the price. And itโs small and has a belt clip.

Buyer Bewareโฆ
There is no USB port for recharging. Iโd just expected there would be and thereโs not. Itโs not worth the cost to return this thing. Iโll just throw it outโฆ

Cheap radio,cheap sound
This is a very cheap radio and it sounds like a cheap radio. Reception is not great and I would not buy this again.

Good Reception
Works well. It gets good reception with AM, FM, and SW. I was even able to pick up a couple of SW broadcasts in a valley, which is usually difficult. I bought this mainly in case of a power outage. It is good for that purpose.

I have a friend in the hospital. This is perfect for them. It just sits beside their shoulder and the earbuds that I have make it silent and convenient
