Veteran Scarlett user perspective - this is my third generation I've owned the 2nd gen, 3rd gen, and now the 4th gen Scarlett 2i2, so I can speak to the evolution of this interface. Let me be clear upfront: I didn't upgrade out of necessity - my 3rd gen was working perfectly fine. I upgraded because I wanted to, and I'm glad I did. Setup & Compatibility: Currently using this with a Shure SM7DB microphone and guitar input, running everything through Voicemeeter Potato for mixing. The interface integrates flawlessly with this setup and the audio quality is superb across both inputs. The Biggest Improvements - Rear XLR Connections & Enhanced Preamps: The rear XLR placement is a standout feature for me. Moving the XLR inputs to the back of the unit instead of the front makes an enormous difference for desktop organization and space utilization. No more cables cluttering the front of your workspace, and it creates a much cleaner, more professional-looking setup. Additionally, the increased preamp gain on the 4th gen provides a noticeably bigger boost compared to previous generations. This extra headroom is particularly beneficial when working with gain-hungry microphones like the SM7DB, giving you more flexibility in your gain staging without having to rely as heavily on external preamps or cloudlifters. Performance: Audio quality remains excellent, as expected from Focusrite. The preamps are clean and quiet, providing plenty of gain for the SM7DB (which is notoriously gain-hungry). Guitar recording is crisp and detailed. Latency is minimal, and the unit plays nicely with Voicemeeter Potato without any driver issues or conflicts. Build Quality: Solid construction with the familiar Scarlett reliability. The gain knobs feel precise and the overall fit and finish is what you'd expect from Focusrite. Who Should Upgrade: If you have a 2nd or 3rd gen that's working fine, this isn't a "must have" upgrade from a functionality standpoint. However, if you value workspace organization and cleaner cable management, the rear XLR placement alone justifies the upgrade cost. Bottom Line: The 4th gen maintains everything great about previous Scarletts while solving the one desktop real estate issue that always bothered me. Sometimes the best upgrades are the subtle ones that improve daily usability. Highly recommended for: Anyone starting fresh with audio interfaces, or existing Scarlett users who want cleaner desk setups.

This is perfection in a small, clever, beautifully designed sleek box. It does everything it's supposed to, without fail, and customer service has been superb. If your work requires that you need such a unit, do not look further. Two thumbs up.

Questa interfaccia non è solo un aggiornamento, è una rivoluzione per gli home studio. Qualità Audio e Preamplificatori: Semplicemente Sbalorditivi La differenza più evidente è la qualità del suono. I preamplificatori di 4a generazione sono incredibilmente limpidi e offrono un headroom enorme. Il guadagno (69 dB!) è sufficiente per pilotare microfoni dinamici affamati di gain (come gli Shure SM7B, tanto per capirci) senza bisogno di booster esterni. I convertitori, presi dalla serie di punta RedNet, offrono una gamma dinamica di 120dB che si sente tutta: le registrazioni sono dettagliate, ricche e professionali. Le Nuove Funzionalità: Un Salto nel Futuro Le due killer feature di questa generazione sono Auto Gain e Clip Safe: Auto Gain: Funzione geniale, specialmente per chi è alle prime armi o vuole velocità. Premi il tasto, suoni o canti per 10 secondi, e la Scarlett imposta il livello di guadagno perfetto. Clip Safe: Ha salvato la vita (e le take) più volte! Se il segnale si avvicina al clipping inaspettato (magari una nota particolarmente forte), il circuito interviene automaticamente per abbassare il guadagno, evitando distorsioni digitali. Queste funzioni rendono la registrazione stress-free e permettono di concentrarsi sulla performance. Modalità "Air" Potenziata e Ingresso Hi-Z La modalità Air è stata rielaborata con l'aggiunta di Presence e Harmonic Drive. È fantastico come riesca a dare quel tocco di "console vintage" alle voci e alle chitarre in un attimo, aggiungendo ariosità o punch armonico, a seconda della necessità. L'ingresso Hi-Z per le chitarre è eccellente; finalmente il suono DI è spesso e corposo, perfetto per i simulatori di amplificatori. Design e Costruzione Il look è iconico e la qualità costruttiva è solida come una roccia. Il grande potenziometro del monitoraggio è morbido e preciso. L'uscita cuffie è molto più potente della generazione precedente, riuscendo a pilotare bene anche cuffie ad alta impedenza, con un suono nitido e forte. In Breve La Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4a generazione non è solo un'interfaccia per principianti. È una soluzione audio di livello professionale in un formato compatto ed estremamente facile da usare. Se stai cercando l'interfaccia audio definitiva per un piccolo studio, che ti dia un suono impeccabile e funzioni intelligenti che ti facciano risparmiare tempo, smetti di cercare. L'hai trovata. Pro: Preamplificatori incredibilmente puliti e con ampio guadagno. Funzioni Auto Gain e Clip Safe che cambiano la vita. Qualità costruttiva robusta e design elegante. Potente uscita cuffie. Ottimo pacchetto software (Hitmaker Expansion). Contro: Onestamente, per l'utilizzo a cui è destinata (piccoli studi/solisti), non riesco a trovare difetti significativi.
