I was extremely nervous about buying this train table after reading several reviews about poor quality of materials. My husband and I spent a good amount of time looking for another table that would be the same size or bigger for a reasonable price. We were getting it for my son's birthday so as the time drew closer we just decided to get it. The table is the perfect size and is so far very sturdy. The material doesn't feel cheap or flimsy but it does appear to be particle board or something similar. It was not hard to assemble and we were able to put it together in a little over an hour. The table does sit low to the ground, which is the perfect height for my little. He prefers to be standing when he's playing with his trains. I could see how low it sits to be a con for some however. Overall, I think it's a worthy buy for a children's table.

If you’re a parent, then you have probably spent quite some time assembling play kitchens, trampolines, table and chair sets, swing sets, slides, infant swings, outdoor playhouses, and numerous plastic monstrosities. At least I have for my daughter who will be 3 in two months. I also spent my twenties assembling IKEA furniture. The instructions for this are excellent. The order of assembly is very intuitive. There is only one drawer to assemble. The markings are clear on both the instructions and on the pieces. The predrilled holes are countersunk for the screw heads making it easy to figure out which orientation the piece should be in. The predrilled holes line up perfectly. It only takes about 45 minutes to assemble. The assembled quality is very nice and sturdy. Fit and finish is nice. I would take a star off for exposed screw heads, but all of these products have them. Just remember, this is a toy. It’s not a high end piece of furniture. You can do a horrible job and have a bad finished product or you can take your time and have a nice finished product. I used a multi screwdriver and a Dewalt Impact with #2 Phillips bit. The instructions say not to use a driver or impact, but I will be 38 soon and my arthritis is setting in from a couple decades of construction and refrigeration service work. I did not torque down the screws with the impact, I just ran them in 90% of the way. I started every screw by hand and torqued them by hand. My daughters was personalized by having her name in pink. I was assuming it would be painted on, but it was actually milled/etched in and then painted. Looks very nice. Way beyond expectations with that detail. I didn’t plan on getting it personalized but it was $10 cheaper. I will update the review as my daughter uses it over the next year. The main purpose is a Brio Wooden Train set, but I’m sure she will have many uses for it.

This table was genuinely easy to put together. We were missing a bolt and the seller send us one in the post straight away, no questions asked. Great service! The table itself is not beautiful; heavy, basic, draw hard to pull out for the under 2 year olds. Having said that, these features make it a good buy for 5 years and under. I've had three 18 month olds crawling over it at the same time, plus a roudy crowd of 4 year old scootering into it. No paint chips or collapse so far. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is its quite low. If your children are tall or 5 years and over, you might find this limited.

We used this activity table for a train set up with the Melissa and Doug Train Set. This is a great quality table that we will use for YEARS! The table was pretty easy to put together. Took my husband and I roughly 45 minutes to put it together with minimal tools. Due to size - definitely recommended having 2 people for assembly. I was worried about the storage drawer being too small, but it has plenty of room for spare train parts (maybe even the full set if my toddler actually ever wants it put away). The table is very sturdy and is holding up to the 3 yo durability test after a month.

My niece, like other kids, has a tendency to throw her toys around. She also doesnt have a particular section or space that she can call hers without taking up an entire room. However, I saw this and it aided in both a place for her toys and an area where she knows is hers now! The quality and workmanship of this is excellent! I opted to get her name also inscribed into it because it's too cute not to. Pros: - Kids are happy - There is an area to store toys in the play table - Its not small, but not too big - The difficulty of assembly is quite easy! Cons: - You have to assemble it, but with a beer break, it gets done pretty quick
