Fantastic Beginner Compound Bow, 1 year review (hunter)
Oct 2020: $200 got me the bow, stabilizer, wrist sling, arrow rest, and sight. Everything worked great once I set it up (learned to do this on my own, just takes time and patience). Please note, this is the first and only bow of any kind I've ever shot. 1 year later: - I had to replace the rest from heavy use ($8 on Amazon) - I've had to diagnose and fix one noise issue. ~1 year after starting to use this bow, a noise developed where whenever I was within a couple of inches of full draw, there was a creaking/popping sound that would surely be a problem when hunting. Most of the online archery forums said the limb pockets needed to cleaned and greased, so I bought a "field bow press" which is just a large bolt and some cables (it's safe and easy, do yourself a favor and pick one up, $35 on Amazon), and cleaned/greased the limb pockets. That didn't fix the issue. So I moved on to the cam system. The cam has an adjustment plate for changing the draw length. It turns out that after a year of heavy abuse (rain, snow, ice, wind, storage in a basement that flooded, etc), the mating of the plate and the actual cam (it was my upper cam) was a bit off. I've successfully eliminated the noise by simply adding a light coat of white lithium grease between the two components. This allowed the adjustment screws to loosen while shooting, but I simply added a drop of gorilla super glue gel to the head and plate (easy to remove), and the problem is resolved. Those are the only two issues I've had with this compound. That said, I think I'll change the string after this hunting season is finished (not expensive, probably best to do after each season), and I'll eventually upgrade the sight. I am accurate (4" groups) with this bow out to 40 yards. I love shooting it, and I love hunting with it. I have a tight budget (grad student, married, two young kids, etc), and I need my investments to go far. I am the types of person who loves learning how to work on my stuff, and this is especially so with this bow as I can't justify spending $100+ on a shop to set it up when I only paid $200 for it. Plus, now I have the knowledge and tools to fix anything on this bow aside from the bow itself breaking (even then, limbs can be easily replaced using my field bow press). If I had ~$500 to start, I may consider going with a used flagship someone is offloading, or I'd go with something like a new Bear brand bow. For $200-250, I don't think you can go wrong with this bow. I do think you should pick up a bow press, and maybe a tool (string splitter?) to install a peep sight should the preinstalled one fall out (mine did when I was first messing with setup). I highly recommend this bow for the self-motivated individual who wants to shoot/hunt within 50 yards. That person should buy with confidence and excitement.

A nice bow
I bought this bow last year and have no complaints. I purchased a bare bow and supplied my own accessories since I already had them, meaning I cannot attest to any of the provided arrows, rest, sight, etc provided in the kit version of this bow. I'm sure they are just fine and would function as intended given the quality of the bow itself. The arrows I use are 400 spine gold tip carbon arrows cut to fit my draw length. The fact that you can do all the work on this bow yourself without the need of a bow press was a huge reason I decided to try this bow out. You simply back out the limb bolts, then you are free to change your string or cables, tie in a peep sight, tune your cams, etc. My old bow is a single cam PSE bow madness (2014 or 2015) and I love it and still shoot it. HOWEVER, I don't consider this Sanlida bow to be a downgrade whatsoever. It shoots just as fast, and has a nice let off at full draw. The feel is different, but not in a bad way. It is a very comfortable and quiet bow to shoot. Accuracy is consistent. It is a very lightweight and short bow meaning that it is not as forgiving as some other bows. Once sighted in, mine has not needed any adjustment even after not being shot for the winter and spring months. I did not use this bow for hunting last year, however I have no doubt of its capability to take a deer, and I plan to use it this season. I have been shooting compound bow for over 20 years, if that means anything to anyone. This is a good bow for the price, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. Update: I have been hunting with this bow this season and had no problems taking a whitetail buck.

Great beginner bow
The quality of the bow itself is pretty good. The finish on the camo is better than the black. The arrow rest and sight are cheap and will need to be replaced if you want a better feel. My wife bought the black pro package and I bought just the camo bow. On the pro package all of the accessories are not worth getting they are pretty bad. I would rank the bow being equivalent to any entry level bow from Diamond, pse, or bear but at a cheaper price point. If you buy just the bow and need arrows and a release look up a trufire releases they are under 20 bucks and look up victory arrows in the appropriate spine for the lb of your draw. Victory makes great starter arrows at a low price point. Guide gear is also made by victory. My wife shoots a 27.5โ draw at 38 lbs on this bow shooting 400 spine victory buck addiction arrows 100gr tip. I have a 30โ draw at 68 lbs and I shoot a 340 spine gold tip hunter xt 100gr tip. Some mods I have done. I have changed the sight to a cbe tactic micro 5 pin sight. And the arrow rest to a trophy ridge kill shot whisker biscuit. Huge difference in quality and grouping ability. My wife is running all stock accessories but I had to raise the arrow rest and d loop about a 1/4โ above center line on the berger button holes. And make a 1/2โ drop adapter for the sight mount. The sight was maxed in down adjustment so this had to be done. If you are not handy you can purchase an inexpensive Spot-Hogg Drop Mount to do the same thing. Not everyone will have to do this itโs just what we had to do for her to get it sighted in. Overall these have made us learn that the family loves shooting bows. Iโm giving mine to my daughter as Iโve just now purchased a new Prime Inline 5. Hope this realistic review helps out a future purchase decision.

Check the D-loop
The D-loop was installed but I did notice that the ends were melted but they did need to be redone and mushroomed. I was concerned that they would slip without being properly mushroomed on the ends. The rating given had a max of 70 lbs. I found that the bow was actually 68.2lbs. But come on folks....It is a $199.00 compound bow. After correcting the D-loop issue I found that the draw length could be easily adjusted and the bow shots well. The bow comes with a 5 pin sight and a hostage arrow rest. All in all, this bow is well worth the money. It is really good entry level bow. A good thing, adjustments can be easily made without a bow press.
