orks Well on Fresh Stains — Not as Powerful on Set-In Odors
I’ve been using the Hoover Pet Spot and Stain Remover on both fresh pet accidents and some older mystery spots on my carpet. For fresh stains, this works great — spray it, let it sit for about 5 minutes, and blot. Most of the time, the stain comes right up and the smell is noticeably reduced. It does okay with set-in stains, but I had to reapply a couple of times and follow up with a steam cleaner to get rid of lingering odors. The scent is mild and clean, which I appreciated since some cleaners can be overwhelming. Overall, I recommend this for quick cleanups and routine maintenance, especially if you have pets that occasionally make messes. Just keep in mind it’s not a miracle product for older or very strong pet odors — but for day-to-day messes, it’s a solid choice. Pros: ✔ Effectively lifts fresh pet stains from carpet and upholstery ✔ Light, pleasant scent that doesn’t overpower ✔ Safe to use around pets once dried ✔ Easy-to-use spray bottle with good coverage ✔ Doesn’t leave behind a sticky residue Cons: ✘ Not strong enough to fully remove older or deeply embedded odors ✘ Slightly pricey for a 22 oz bottle if you have a lot of messes to treat
