I had a problem with my Ford Expedition with the battery draining even though I had everything off. I installed this device on my battery, which was very simple, and it works perfectly. It completely cuts power from your battery to everything. Kind of a theft deterrent also as there is no power at all if they break in. They would have to pop the hood and take the battery cables off this device to bypass. So there is that added bonus.

I ordered this for the wife's car that has a parasitic draw that has left her stranded on multiple occasions. I ordered the option with the longer cable, but received the product with the short cable. However, I had a long battery cable in my shop, so was able to make it work. The instructions are awful, using words that have nothing to do with battery connections like "pole line" but the product page on Amazon has a very clear diagram of how to wire it. It's just a relay that interrupts the ground circuit of the car and I like it. The remotes worked right out of the box. Now she can park her car for more than 4 days without experiencing a dead battery. UPDATE... I've had this installed now for 18 months. It still works well but I have come across a minor problem a few times. The buttons on the remote fob are raised from the body of the fob. My wife's car has keyless ignition, using a smart key, so I keep the key and the remote in my pocket. When driving, the raised buttons on the remote sometimes are activated by me moving around while driving. The relay on the disconnect is a latching relay, so power to the vehicle is not lost if the remote "off" button is pressed while driving, but... the vehicle acts very weirdly. The navigation system blinks on and off, some sensors malfunction, and the car runs rough. Taking the key out of my pocket and pressing the "on" button resumes normal operation. Now I keep the key and remote in the console when driving. So...a recommendation to the manufacturer. Recess the remote buttons instead. This may help with inadvertent button activation.
