After years of coloring my hair and trying numerous brands, I can confidently say that this product stands out. I stopped using harsh, chemical-based hair dyes in my 30s after noticing the long-term damage they caused. Since then, I've chosen to use more naturally based hair color products to help maintain the health of my hair. What impressed me most about this brand was how soft, smooth, and shiny my hair felt immediately after coloring—it didn't have the dry or brittle texture I've experienced with other dyes. Additionally, the color has held up exceptionally well, even after a week of regular washing. Overall, this product delivered excellent color while leaving my hair looking and feeling healthy, making it one of the best natural-based hair dyes I've used and will continue using.

Finally found a hair color that actually improves my hair texture. Does not dry it out or make it frizzy. I think this color is better for my hair than the salon color I was paying a ton for. Highly recommend and love the look.

The description for this product on the Amazon website states that it does not contain any harsh chemicals. It also state that the product contains no peroxide. I bought it based on that information and just used it on my hair. It should be noted that although I bought the light brown color that it turned my hair black. I left it on for the time recommended in the instruction booklet, which was 45 minutes. After seeing how well it dyed my hair I got curious and did a more thorough reading of the ingredients on the bottom of the box. It contains sodium carbonate peroxide. This is a common ingredient in powdered-at- home permanent dyes. I cannot believe that this product advertises itself as no harsh chemicals. I will go back to my semi-permanent dyes, which although wash out within a month, have no ammonia or peroxides.

I really like the way my hair came out. And at least for a few days after washing it I had beautifully thick hair. I am on Nutrafol for thinning hair (which is working nicely). But for some reason after dying it my hair was thick. It’s back to its regular volume now lol. 2 negative things. I bought dark brown and like a few other reviewers my hair turned black. Now I had a lot of gray to cover so I left it on over an hour. Maybe that was the issue And it stains which was good for my scalp because it also stained it (like dying your brows the skin with no hair gets stained). So I looked like I had more hair. But my hands and sink also got stained Wear gloves. It’s 2 weeks now the black is still there even after hours of oil in my hair which used to work to take away excess dye. Slight bits of gray coming thru at the roots. You could probably get away with 4-6 weeks of color before you dye again I’m going to get medium brown and mix a little dark brown next time. The Morticia Adams look is too draining for my Mediterranean skin tone 😂

Getting very grey and I dont like to pay a ton of money for a color that usually burns and irritates my scalp and doesn't always cover my grey very well. This doesn't irritate At ALL. Color is ok and seems to always be darker than I want initially. No matter what shade I get but after washing fades a bit. I like the feel of my hair afterbusing this

I have been using this product since 2019. It has been great for me with PPD sensitivity. It smells like oranges and is very easy to use. I also brought this to my hairstylist to color my hair, and she loved the gentleness and effective coloring. She found no damage to my hair despite my frequent use of the color. However, after four years of enjoying the product without any allergic symptoms, the reaction returned after the purchase this summer. Not only did the design of the box change, but so did the ingredients. Now they do not have the line "No PPD" on the box. (I wish they could notify us of the BIG change) I have to stop using it in the middle of the treatment because of a burning sensation and itchiness, leaving a very uncomfortable feeling on my scalp with a significant amount of fallen hair. I would have avoided using it if I had known the change. Since I trusted the product, I purchased 4-6 boxes at a time, so I still have 4 unopened boxes, but they are all in the newly designed boxes which I cannot use. I wish I could get the previous version of this hair color. If you have NO PPD allergies, please enjoy the product with its ease of use without any harsh smell. Update 4/29/2025: "NO PPD" has been added back to the box. I would appreciate it if others could share reviews confirming whether this is true. Thank you so much!

Great organic product. Does not damage the hair. Comes with a conditioning shampoo, Spa conditioner, gloves and an application brush. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the product is very easy to mix and apply. It leaves your hair soft and manageable. Be wise with the selection of color. Dark brown is really dark. Next time I purchase, I’m going a shade or two lighter. I highly recommend this product for anyone who would rather use natural henna to color their hair over chemically treating it with hair dye

Used this brand and color for about a year- the last time I used it (light brown) my hair turned a brassy red/orange! I don’t recommend any longer.

This is a great product. It does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. Delivery was prompt too. I'd highly recommend it. Hopefully by the time mine runs out, they will still have the product in stock, because I 'd gladly reorder the same product t over and over through the same reseller.

I bought this product for my mother, she has grey roots. And I always wanted her to use any herbal hair dyer. Thankful to Indus Valley, the product is full sized and big quantity. It can be used 4 times if you have hair till your shoulders. Within 30 minutes, you get your desired color. It has no ammonia and no other chemical, they have only used herbal ingredients specially henna and orange. They have many color variety, do try if you are looking for some chemical free products.

Da ich vor ein paar Jahren auf chemische Haarfarbe allergisch reagiert habe, bin ich auf Pflanzenhaarfarbe um gestiegen. Da ich momentan meine Haarfarbe nicht bekomme, habe ich dieses Produkt ausprobiert. Leider habe ich die gleichen Allergischen Reaktionen wie bei der chemischen Haarfarbe bekommen. Dieses Produkt ist für Allergiker nicht zu empfehlen.
