This thing is my favorite new toy. I am using it to plant new grass seed. Very easy to use-not hard on arms or back & works amazingly. I would highly recommend this for tilling up a garden & just to lift brown grass with little effort. I did notice you have to periodically tighten the knobs but easy peasy. You will NOT regret this purchase!

Don’t make the same mistake I did in my video — definitely water the area before using this tool. You don’t need to soak the ground, but even a light watering makes a huge difference. It helps the tines penetrate the soil much more easily and makes removing dead grass far less work. I specifically bought this tool to prep an area where my dogs frequently pee, which left patches of dead grass behind. I decided to reseed with clover since it handles nitrogen differently than traditional grass, making it a much better fit for pet spots. This cultivator worked great for loosening the soil and helping prepare the area so the seeds can properly sprout. It’s lightweight and assembly was also incredibly simple. You just insert the tines into the slots and tighten the wheel — quick and straightforward. The only reason I deducted one star is because I’ve had trouble keeping the wheels tightened enough during use, and occasionally the tines will come loose. I’m not sure if I’m being too aggressive with it or if I’m a wimp and can’t tighten it enough haha, but aside from that, it’s been a very useful tool and does exactly what I needed it to do!

We are new gardeners. We tilled our space with an electric garden tiller. This tool helped us make the rows defined for easier planting. It’s very sturdy and assembled easily. My husband loves it for its functionality and versatility.

This looks like the ones you buy at Lowes or Home Depot, and works fair, not great. First of all they design these to patch plant so it requires a lot of work to prepare a small area, second, it seems sturdy, but, the bolts or knobs that hold all three cultivators in place come loose requiring you to stop and retighten them every few minutes. i don't expect it to hold up over the long haul, and, i regret not buying local. I have written dozens of reviews since 2017. I have had two responses in that time, and most of the time Amazon has blown me off as well, but, my goal is to help someone make an informed decision whether Amazon or the Seller come through or they don't.

This worked great for light tilling prior to overseeding a small section yard. It was also very helpful in loosening a large areas of compact soil prior to planting grass seed. It made quick work after a rain the day prior and was perfect for mixing in new top soil with the existing poor quality soil. This made the job much faster and easier. The angled shaft was comfortable and perfect length. The seed took off much stronger then previous attempts with a metal rake. Huge help. Looking forward to using it other areas I've had trouble getting seed started.

This tool worked so well, i am prepping for sod, and I used the cultivator to loosen up the dirt! It did exactly what I needed it to do!

Pretty decent cultivator. 3 piece handle that has plastic screw in pieces. May not be suitable for heavy work but worked great for me roughing up ground for grass seed

Surprisingly effective

This is a great little tool. I have raised garden beds. Different heights. This hand cultivator worked like a charm. I could adjust the length. Built very sturdy. Well worth the money.

This is really good. I like that it breaks apart for easy storage. It has really helped me oversees my back garden!

Great rotary soil cultivator, this is a classic, well built and easy to assemble! Works great to lossen top soil. I am very pleased with this product, very reasonable price for this quality product!!!
