Controls the tempurature well, but is a bit noisy
The dehydrator is working very well, but it is a bit noisy. The timer turns it off so it doesn't run when the food is already dry.

Worth it
It’s louder than a dishwasher, but so what? Works beautifully, fits a ton, has fine-tuned temp and time controls, and is super easy to use and clean. It’s even light enough for an old lady to carry in from the front porch.

Disappointed, I expected more from Excalibur
I purchased mine in the beginning of 2020 (it's now the end of 2023) and what was Excalibur because, even though it was much more expensive, I figured it would last. I probably use the machine about once every other month on average. After about 1 year and 2 months it started to turn itself off because the fuse in the back was being tripped. First I thought it was maybe where I placed it and didn't have good air flow. So I moved it to the middle of the room but it still pops the overheating fuse after a time. Overtime I learned that if I keep the temperature set to 140 or below, it doesn't trip the emergency shut off. I'm pretty sure it's getting way warmer than 140 though. Well I could buy parts and start trying to fix it, it's extremely disappointing that I would need to after such a short period of time with very light use. It does make a rattling sound that is quite loud and the fan itself is quite loud as well. This didn't bother me used to it and ignore it; however, it could be a problem for some if you need it quiet.

Overpriced Junk
This is by far the worst online purchase I've made in years. Unit appears to have been assembled by an individual who did not care at all. Screws were entered partially and on a diagonal. Trays were jammed into the unit so they are bent and almost unusable. When plugged in the until starts heating without being turned on then when turned on the fan starts and the heating element shuts off. It is louder than any other appliance I have ever owned. Now the unit won't turn on at all. I do not feel safe having this turned on in my home without constant supervision. Feels very plastic and poor quality. For this price there is no way I'm keeping this. Joke.

As expected
This one, so far so good. I owned 2 others brands dehydrator b4 . The NESCO FD-79 Snackmaster Pro dead in one year, no warranty after one year. 2nd one, returned after trial, due to cut off itself on the middle of using with 95f setting . This is the 3rd one, at least with 10 years warranty and you do not need to purchase additional coverage. Hope it will last as expected. Looks big, but: personally feel, not, just a quiet compact box shape.

Quality
A gift for my husband. Tried to order direct from the manufacturer but after two weeks they canceled my order due to lack of materials. My husband really wanted this brand because he's trying to use and purchase predominantly American made products and this had some great reviews. He's made jerky with it several times and is always pleased with the results and ease of use and clean up. He really enjoys using it and has no complaints. And believe me, he'd share if he did.

Loud & wrong door
The door that came with it is too small so it rattles very loudly & it takes longer for items to dehydrate. I am trying to get the door replaced but it’s been an uphill battle. I’ve read other reviews of others having the same issue but I have not been provided the solution yet. In the meantime, I’ve used aluminum foil and wine bottles to close the gaps on the door & to quiet the rattling some. I’m very excited for the potential but if I cannot get the proper door I will be replacing this item. It’s supposed to be quiet, not wake up the whole neighborhood

Returned item
I was excited to be finally getting a dehydrator and always saw these Excalibur ones as being the model to get. This thing rattled so much, it was unbearable. I thought I’d give it a chance by placing it in a closed room, but it just kept rattling. It could have been damaged in delivery, but I couldn’t see anything wrong other than it could have been faulty bearings in the fan. It’s sad, but this totally put me off from wanting to buy another one, especially for the price.
