This test was worth every penny. It confirmed my 23andme results. I eliminated everything, and my results are immediate. My face is glowing & clear from cystic acne, and my hair is coming in lush. I have more energy and no sickness. I’m throwing away all my allergens. This saves me so much money. I was consuming, and applying products and food that were attacking my immune system. Not anymore. It coincided with my ancestry health tests that said I had a variant for a blood disorder. I had no idea for over 40 years that I had been eating foods that were making me anemic. The 5Strands testing empowered me to take control of my health and customize my diet and nutrition to my body’s needs. I eliminated all of the triggers & ingredients that were make me sick, nauseated, sluggish, and feeling blah. It has aided me in preserving my youth, longevity, and a trim figure. I love this testing so much I included the Deluxe kit in my Fall 2021 Business Communications class presentation on ‘Growing Your Hair Long’. There is only so much testing that insurance companies allow and doctors will do so this really enables us to uncover answers about the way you feel when all your bloodwork is normal but you feel subpar. It is a investment in your present and future that helps you reach optimal health goals. It is worth its weight in gold. I will be purchasing them as gifts for mom and best friend.

I struggled with random itchy skin and waking up with a stuffy nose. I thought I was just allergic to my own house. I tried changing my laundry soap and even bought expensive air machines but nothing gave me lasting comfort. I was so tired of feeling drained every single afternoon. I ordered this complete hair test as a first-time buyer because it checked for everything, not just meals but also things in the air and what my body might be missing. Snipping a tiny bit of hair was entirely painless. When the email arrived just a few days later, the report was incredibly easy to read. It turned out a specific tree near my window and a common cleaning spray were my biggest issues, plus I was really low on a basic daily vitamin. Making those few simple swaps in my routine completely transformed my month. My skin is calm, I breathe easily all night, and my energy is finally steady. It is such a massive relief to stop guessing and actually know what my body needs.

This says I have intolerance to the primary foods I my diet. I'm on a 90% animal based diet. Perhaps I have high levels of these foods in my system it thinks I cannot digest them properly.

I've attached photos of my results since none have been posted on amazon yet and I see a lot of people asking for examples in the product questions. The only info I've removed was the company's info, the date of my results and my personal info. I had 18 pages worth of results so I've shown 4 examples, one from each group of results. I had bought this deluxe kit because I had been showing signs of a reaction off and on for 6 months to 1 year. At 1st it was somewhat rare, but eventually would become more common. I was having hives appear on my lower arms and hands which were extremely itchy and would increase in size within hours and wouldn't fully go away until 2-3 days later. I needed answers because it was starting to effect my work tasks. I got my results about a week and a half after mailing my samples to them. The kit comes with what you would expect, but the return envelope isn't the pre-paid kind so you will need to buy stamps or go to your local mailing services in order to have it mailed. The results will break things down into 3 levels, level 3 is a severe intolerance or deficiency, level 2 is a moderate intolerance or deficiency, a level 1 is a mild intolerance or deficiency. I had seen review complaints that people were seeing multiple of the same intolerance in different levels on their results so I ended up printing off the full list of items that they test for and marking them off color coded and found that none of mine overlapped. There are examples of different types of 1 item (Example: Milk (Almond), Milk (Evaporated) and Milk (Cow)) so maybe people are getting some of those mixed up and thinking that got mixed results? I found that printing off their entire list and color coding it made it easier for me to read and review my results as a whole anyways and I've been using that more then I have the actual results list sent to me unless I'm needing to do a quick search for something specific using the CTRL+F computer feature. I've learned that even though my 1st suspicion was almond milk, I didn't give my elimination test long enough and had a delayed reaction occur which made be believe I hadn't removed my issue. I found out later that an intolerance can occur anywhere from 2 hours to 10 days after having been exposed to them and I was only giving my elimination tests 5-7 days. For now I'm only working with the items in my list I regularly use in my daily life and will remove them as needed if removing almond milk doesn't do the job, but so far my reactions have gone away. I've also started taking Vitamin B1 pills because in my results it shows that I'm -99 so I'm extremely deficient and plan on eating more foods that also help with that. In my results it did show I had both an intolerance and deficiency of Iron. I had wondered if this was an issue with the test somehow and looked at their website's FAQ and found my answer there. Apparently it can mean that my body isn't processing Iron correctly. My body is storing my Iron where it shouldn't (So it shows up as an intolerance/overexposure) and because it's storing it where it shouldn't, my body isn't getting enough of it where it would be beneficial for me (So it shows up as a deficiency). The FAQ didn't cover how I should react to this issue so I'll have to find answers for that elsewhere after I've fully dealt with my main concerns 1st.

* update: after furthe studying the results, suggesting to focus on the nutrition facts to improve a balance diet or with supplement, do not bother to food test, or heavy metals that usually toxic to your body but stop the exposure. * The deluxe package is a waste of money and test results might contradict across intolerance, inability to absorb nutrition and imbalance of metal & mineral to process and elimination. The unspecific testing standard (threshold) and reading indicator will not let you to understand the purpose of doing this. I did not believe the reviews before buying this kit and thought there should be some points to startup with some food elimination but once I have looked into the nutrition and metal & mineral together, I know I was wrong to try this product. If you do not have any noticable reaction to any speicific allergens, you simply cannot tackle the root problem. The way you can start to elimate the food intolerance would take you forever to draw a conclusion unless you have randomly picked the exact right categories and individual items to show significant improvement only if it is a noticeable reaction with sufficient amount of daily and accumulative consumption over a short period of time.

We ordered these tests for our 83 year old mother with some chronic but moderate health issues looking for some possible insight into causation. I don’t regret the purchase, but the information is overwhelming, sometimes confusing and could be presented more clearly. My suggestions to the company are as follows: 1. Format the results differently. All items tested for should be listed. Then, simply highlight the items that tested for levels 1-3 in different colors. That way, your customers could clearly see what they CAN and maybe should not consume. I had to do this independently for our mother to help her see that there are items she can still eat and drink since looking at the results as presented make one think they are intolerant to basically everything. 2. Define items most people are not familiar with. It takes HOURS upon hours to look up things like. E 239 Hexamthylene-tetramine, Carboxymethylcellulose, or Sodium orthophenylphenate. The majority of items tested for are listed with scientific names and the general population have no idea what those are. It is a simple fix. For instance, under E 123 Amaranth, simple put in parenthesis (Red food coloring #2). 3. Clarify seemingly conflicting results. One example, Alcohol is listed as level three, but beer, gin, red wine (they don’t test for white), tequila, vodka and whiskey are not level 3. I called for clarification, but that didn’t really help. Similarly, shellfish is listed under level 3, but clams, crab, crayfish, lobster, prawns, etc. are not. I find that confusing. We ordered the Deluxe Package and for about $150. It is somewhat interesting, but not something I think we’ll “hang out hat” on. My husband and I have had actual allergy testing done (blood work through our doctor) and found that information more helpful. Keep in mind though those tests are expensive. This is an interesting and reasonably priced option. I do give high marks to the company. They respond to emails quickly and the results arrived in a short time.

I did this for me and my kids and for me personally it has helped a lot to reduce inflammation by cutting out some top inflammatory items from my diet. I haven't figured some of the others out or how to reduce them but this was an eye-opening test and I feel a little better knowing what causes inflammation in my kids too. The next question is accuracy. It was different than another test I did for the similar purpose I.e the results were slightly different. But I like this one a little better because it was more comprehensive. Some things I can't avoid like for example if you have a cat and are intolerant to cat saliva or cat dander. It seems strange to me to have had a cat for so many years and then suddenly this is telling me there's some kind of reaction to it. I would have thought that I noticed by now. Anyway there's just a level of skepticism that I continue to have with this but some things I have noticed do make a positive difference to eliminate from my diet.

The report has a lot of information but it does not provide certain details that I am looking for. However, in general, it provides a good guide.

Fantastic customer service. I sent my sample in the day before the Canada Post strike so it got stuck in the mail. When I reached out by email, I had a response in less than a few hours. They gave me different options to send another sample. The time between when they received my sample and the results, was very quick. The results are also delivered in really nice options. You can download them to Excel as well to organize the data better. Really nice, really thorough.

The product arrived quickly and the results came in quickly. The results are a vital tool for improving diet and maximizing health.
