Works good on thread
Doesn’t get red hot like the larger cord zapper. Gets hot enough the melt Chinese beading thread. More controllable than using a lighter but requires several taps to finish the end.

Very poor quality for what is supposed to be the "Extra Strong" version
Bought this one and the first time I used it the wire filament broke. Sent it back and the second one did the same thing. This is supposed to be the "Extra Strong" version but the wire filament is the same for all models and is NOT strong. I had an old one (no longer made) for many years and never had to use the extra tips I bought for it. This is the first time I have purchased a Beadsmith model and I won't be buying another one. Waste of money.

It's delicate … but does a delicate job perfectly 👍👍
I do a lot of rope splicing and leather stitching. This trims synthetic whipping/stitching twine perfectly … without burning the whipping, stitching or splice. It's much better than those flame/lighter tools. But, it is a delicate tool that *needs* to be set in place before pressing the button and firing up the filament. Otherwise, as others have pointed out, the *HOT* filament will get bent out of shape or broken. Do it right = you'll get it right. 👍👍 I bought spare filaments to facilitate the learning curve. The filament wire could be heavier and still get the job done. I'll replace it with heavier SS wire if I burn these up. GOOD TOOL!

Works great!
I have used the smaller version of this for zapping the threads to make jewelry, but always problems with battery life and sufficient power. This version is powered by 2 batteries and that makes all the difference, it works great for the thicker cords, but also works very fast and efficiently for the thinner beading threads. I use it for everything and am very pleased.

Only worked for seconds.
On the first use, the tip glowed red indicating heat for approximately 10 seconds, and then refused to heat up after. I believe the problem is with the on/off button. The Cord Zap was not used during the allowable return window so, unfortunately, I was unaware of the defect in time to return.

Works great for wax linen.
It actually came broken. Easy fix but I wasn’t sure whether the item got broken being tossed on the porch or broke in transit. I think delicate items should be marked. Otherwise it works great now.

Essential tool
I use the burner in my bead weaving to sear closed the ends. Sometimes the tips last a long times others last only a few burns. So keep a supply of extras handy. Same with batteries. It's a simple tool but essential.

Tip burned right up after a few uses
Boy this gets so hot the tip melts and breaks right after a few uses. So now I have to order new tips. Seams to be solid construction but the tips do not last .

Falsche Handhabung?

Hot wire cutter
Speedy delivery. Compact, pen-like kit, simple to handle, activate and use. I have only used it a few times so far but it has proved very effective at cutting and sealing nylon rope without causing the charred effect if a flame was used. I purchased it initially for fly tying but I have not got around to using it for that application. Never the less, based on the experience with cord, I am confident that it will do the job.

Not well made
It came broken, we finally fixed it ourselves, but it is not strong enough. We went for hot gun.

It does NOT switch on or work
I’ve only just opened this and sadly it does not switch on on work at all. I have the Mini thread zapper (bought else where) which I love - I wasn’t in need of this till now so I’ve missed the return window.
