Speakman VS-233011-BN Chelsea Anystream 2-Way Shower Combination, 2.5 GPM, Brushed Nickel

Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I got a good deal with Amazon Warehouse; the packaging was nice and I received a virtually brand new Speakman shower head combo. Pressure is good and quality is good. However, the installation process is a bit tricky. The shower head came in three separate boxes: the main shower head, the connectors, and the removable shower head. There are separate instructions for the removable shower head and the main shower head. The instructions do not indicate that they are separate documents. So, I started installing the main shower head only to realize the piece I placed onto the shower head arm was only if you were going to use the main shower head by itself. There is another connector that has the main shower head holder and the holder for the removable shower head. This was a minor annoyance. However, After I got that square away I had leaks coming out several places. I had to really tighten the shower heads. Also make sure to put plenty of Teflon tape. Also, I am not able to get the shower head lined up. SO i'm pretty frustrated there, I am going to work on this later today when I get home, but I wanted to write this for any person who purchases this is aware. Also, make sure you do not lose the little screw in the packaging. You need that or else there will be a massive leak, you'll see what I mean.

We have low water pressure, about 30 PSI, in our apartment. It has made showering a somewhat longer and less satisfying process. This shower head combo not only helps a great deal with the low water pressure (concentrated spray pattern) but it also comes in multiple pieces: handheld sprayer w/ hose, shower head, and connection to the pipe itself. This allows you to adjust between sprayers without moving the head, unlike other units where the fixed shower head is one piece that screws directly onto the pipe. Very solid construction (metal), exactly what I was looking for. I tried four other shower head/head combos before finding this one, which I am very glad I did. Some of the other reviews stated that this assembly leaks. I would like to clarify, yes this does leak IF you do not utilize the enclosed Teflon/plumbers tape to seal the connections. At first I did not use any, then took the pieces down and used a reasonable amount (there was still plenty to spare). I have since experienced no leaks.

After *weeks of Diligence* I purchased the Speakman VS-233011-BN Chelsea... & Speakman S-2252-MB Signature... I researched for Brass only (Not Plastic) only the Speakman S-2252-MB Signature... is Accurate… Installation only took 20 minutes ;) a pleasant surprise… Water Pressure will never Compete with the Hotel Pressure, but the (massage setting) is PERFECT,,, Only negative I found is my wife is too short,,, to make any Adjustments ;) @5’2” I’m only 5’7” no problems ;),,, if it had the Metal or Brass materials it would be a 5***** But as 90% of material is plastic /: I give it a 3.5*** You are able to use Both heads at same time, thus I’ll move to a 4.0*** PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FULL PRICE**** make sure it’s on SALE**** The Brass unit Speakman S-2252-MB Signature... was a Back up. I will update in 90 Days ;)

My first experience with a Speakman shower head was at a hotel. I was very pleased with the shower so I later replaced my shower head at home with a fixed Speakman and after that replaced the shower at my girlfriend's apartment with the same model. I was very pleased with the build quality and the overall experience with the shower. Now we've moved to a house that has a larger shower and has a Delta shower head that has both a fixed component and a wand. I did a bit of research and decided to replace the Delta with this Speakman model with the diverter and separate heads. The box arrived and it had three components: the fixed shower head, the wand unit (complete with mounting hardware in case you wanted to install it as a standalone head), and a diverter. The fixed head and wand unit are both plastic, while the diverter is a solid metal. The hose is also plastic and shorter than our previous Delta's hose (which feels much sturdier, even to the point of being too stiff). It would seem like a good hit on the tile wall might shatter the head . The hand wand feels a but awkward because this model has a bulge in the back (other models seem to not stick out that much). I went to go install the diverter and I couldn't get it to stay level. It looks like you're supposed to twist the main diverter on the part they attaches to the spigot, and rely on the rubber gasket to keep it from leaking. But I think it did leak when I did that and there's nothing to hold the diverter in place, so bumping it could easily cause it to get crooked again. The diverter also has an Allen screw which is not in the instructions at all, and water leaks out of that screw. I was never able to get it to stop leaking and even stripped the head to the point where I can't even get the screw back out. The main head whent on fine. The hose for the handheld unit has a check valve in it and a label indicating which side goes to the water supply (in this case, the diverter). Unfortunately, as soon as you select the handheld unit on the diverter, water leaks profusely from the hose attachment at the diverter. I removed the check valve (it's just a small plastic plug) quite by accident (I tried connecting the hose the other way to see if maybe I had connected it backwards--the valve just popped out) but even then, it still leaked. I had installed the fixture with all of the flow restrictors installed and the pressure in our house isn't high (our house's water main has a flow restrictor on it) so pressure shouldn't be an issue here. I tried installing the wand unit directly to the spigot and I didn't have any leaks, so it has something to do with the diverter. Maybe the water going through the narrow opening of the diverter causes the force of the water at the hose connection to be too high? You'd think that, because these units are sold as a kit that they'd be designed to work together, but it didn't work for me. I think I'm the only one that's posted about having an issue so maybe I had a defective unit? The diverter and the main head adds a fair amount of length to the whole thing, which makes the head just a little too short for my liking, since I'm tall (6'3"). You may want to take this into account when you purchase. I think that, because of the issues I experienced, and the rather long overall length, that next time I'll just get the standslone handheld unit and get one one that lacks the bulge in the back.

This showerhead is great I'm slowly transitioning into a raisin every day with how long I'm spending in the shower now. This thing is therapeutic and a powerhouse. This showerhead was made for elephants it's so strong. I run both showerheads at the same time and the dual showerhead and detachable showerhead still both get great water pressure. I highly recommend this showerhead or any other from speakman as they truly are worth it. I set this up easily in 5 minutes and had never set one up before.

This product is advertised as metal and most of it is plastic. Very expensive for plastic. I gave it a three because it works great but construction spec is a complete lie!!! I almost gave this a one for price and plastic.

There is a reason that Speakman showerheads are in the really nice hotels. This shower head combo is awesome! The water pressure is phenomenal and the adjustable spray is nice. One unpublished feature is that you can get the shower head and handheld to work at the same time to give even more spray density. Setup was simple and quick. I had a Delta Magnetic series shower massage before. The Delta was not even close to this Speakman shower head.

We've had some Speakman shower heads before and they have all been good. This one was easy to install and it just works well. I really like some of the details like them including some teflan tape inside the package. Also appreciated that the instructions are simple to follow and clearly written.

Nice package. Improves pressure. Only two stream options. Handheld unit looks cheap because the plastic body seems don’t line up. Would be five stars except I expected a little more variance in the stream options and a higher quality looking and feeling piece. Thought there would be more metal, all plastic right down to the diverter. Only steel is where it connects to exhausting water line. The holder on the diverter for the handheld is almost impossible to adjust angel. Instructions show to loosen screw to adjust, however when I removed the rubber grinder to uncover the screw, it wasn’t there. All plastic and non adjustable.. happy enough with pressure increase to keep unit.
