Not too heavy for a youngster.
Bought for my 10 year old granddaughter who was ready to move on from children’s binns. She loved them - she is into wildlife and coped with operating them very well . They were light enough for her to carry for a good hour before being passed over on arrival at the playground. Good quality - image considering the price point .

I highly recommend them.
They feel perfect to handle due to the high-quality manufacturing. They also perform very well with a clear high definition view. I highly recommend them. I would recommend getting a 'Hutton' Leather Reporter Bag to carry them in. It is a worthwhile investment.

Great binoculars for the price.
After doing a lot of research, I decided to give these a go. I have to say I am more than impressed. Easy to set up and they give a really bright sharp image. I could have spent much more money on a better known brand but these are perfect for my needs. Highly recommended.

Not 10x42's
Lovely to hold, nicer material than the 8x42 pair by hontry we already own. Amazing value for money compared to some of the higher cost name brands. However, these binoculars are not 10x42's. They are exactly the same magnification as the 8x42 binoculars I own and all other 8x42s I've used in the past. Still good quality but not as described.

Binoculars.
Unbelievable lens quality for the price. I’m actually amazed at how good they are for the money. I only bought them as a spare to keep in the Land Rover but I’m using them all the time.

Great value
Only had them a couple of days but I must say that these binoculars are shaping up to be the best bins i've ever had so far. Not had had them in the field yet (bird watching) and that will be the real test of how tough and water proof they are. However they have very good clarity, no discernable fringing or colour aberations to be seen. The body of the bins have a textured grip which I like. If you are looking for an entry level or even advanced set of bins then these may be the bins you are looking for. Great value for money

These are directly comparable to the Vortex Triumph in their build & performance. The only significant difference is that Vortex has a lifetime warranty that basically covers anything up to a nuclear attack, and the case that comes with them is way better for carrying binocs in the field. Based on the prices of similar cases sold separately, if you need that buy the Vortex instead. Both this and the Vortex are heavy enough that a harness case is good to have. I modified the case that comes with the Hontry’s to function almost as well as the Vortex one, but the Vortex is better because it’s easier to get the glass in & out of and is big enough so that you can set the eye relief & leave it set. BTW, that eye relief thing is a game changer. I’ve never had binocs that I could use with my glasses and that’s a way cool, super useful feature. One thing I found on the Hontry site when doing my prepurchase comparison is that they are also Nitrogen filled which for some reason isn’t in the description.

These binoculars offer excellent clarity and performance for the price. The optical system really delivers. The images are sharp, colors are accurate, and they handle low-light conditions better than I expected. The 10x magnification strikes a nice balance between zoom and stability, making them ideal for bird watching and wildlife spotting. I also appreciate the rugged, waterproof design. Knowing they’ll float if dropped in water is a big plus for boating and travel. I appreciate that it comes with a nice storage case that can be worn like a purse, cross-body, or it also has a loop on the back that can be attached to a belt. They could've made it a little bit larger so that you could fit the binoculars in there without them being so snug, but it does the job. Would also be nice to have a small pocket on the front to keep the lens cleaner cloth in. That said, there are a few design quirks worth mentioning. The covers for the front lenses are a bit tricky to get on and off, which can be frustrating if you’re using them frequently. The cover for the eyepiece lenses isn’t attached to the binoculars at all, so you’ll want to keep a close eye on it to avoid losing it. Also, there were no instructions on how to attach the strap. You have to loop it back through the single closure, which took me some trial and error to get the right length and to make sure it would stay put (see my review photos for reference). Overall, these binoculars perform very well and are priced fairly for the quality. With just a few small improvements to the accessories, they’d easily be a 5-star product.

I’ve been using the Hontry 10x42 roof binoculars for a few weeks now, mostly for casual birdwatching. The build quality feels solid for the price point. The binoculars are lightweight and comfortable to hold for extended periods. The picture is clear and bright enough for general use, with decent color and contrast. You can easily spot details at a distance, which makes them great for hobbyists or anyone who needs a reliable pair of binoculars without breaking the bank. That said, don’t expect the sharpness, low-light performance, or edge-to-edge clarity of a $500+ pair. They’re not going to replace high-end optics, but for the price, they offer solid value and dependable performance. If you want a budget-friendly, easy-to-use set of binoculars for casual use, these work well and deliver what you need.

I love birdwatching, but until now I’ve only had a monocular that I used because really good binoculars were too expensive. Plus, I have a really little face, so my eyes are close together, and some binoculars I’ve tried won’t work for me because I can’t get the eye pieces close enough together to be able to see through them both at the same time (which defeats the “binocular” premise). These Hontry 10x42 binoculars allow me to adjust them to fit my eyes, and they are perfect for birding. They are so clear! They give a very crisp image of whatever you are looking at, and at quite a distance. They come with a carrying case and a strap for the binoculars themselves, along with a cleaning cloth for the lenses. I love that the lens cover over the eye piece is one piece (instead of individual lens covers that can be more easily lost), and the fact that it has a crumple zone between them, so that people like me—who need the eye pieces close together—don’t have to open the binoculars all the way to get the lens cover on. I also love that the lens caps on the other side are attached, so they just pop down when you want to use them—and they actually stay down and don’t retract back up a little to block your view. At the current price (as of this writing) of $64.90, these binoculars are an excellent value for anyone just getting into birdwatching who doesn’t want to invest in a super-expensive pair but wants a clear view of all of those amazing birds our there.
