Sweet and good quality
These red dates are soft, sweet, and taste very natural. The texture is chewy and pleasant. They do have pits inside, so just be careful when eating. I would like them even more if there were a pit-free version available. Overall good quality and worth the price.

NEW BAG OF DATES TASTED FRESH AND SWEET
I am not happy at all with the product. Has a rancid smell and the skin is extremely dry. Tastes like Cork texture, you can feel it scratching your throat when you try to swallow. Very disappointed. I won't buy it again. UPDATE: I received a new bag of dates (as a replacement ) and the aroma, flavor color, and texture were absolutely different. Very sweet and soft! I'm sure the problem was the storage, not the product itself. The tea tastes fresh and natural. Customer service, above and beyond! Following up with a customer to ensure quality is a must. I am satisfied with the product and I appreciate the opportunity to taste a new batch that absolutely made a difference in my perception of the product quality. Plus, to enjoy a natural and fresh fruity taste of their tea brand. A great customer service always makes a difference. The last 3 pictures are of new product received and there is a significant difference in texture and color.

I like
Dates are a little small but I dont mind the size. These taste exactly how jujube fruits are supposed to taste like. Good quality๐

These are yummy and snackable!
My first time buying jujube dates. I actually didn't know they were dates. They taste like caramel. They have an interesting shell, I'm still trying to decide how to describe it. I like it...maybe its like a softer and chewable popcorn hull shell...does that make sense? Probably not. It's delicious. The interior is a bit spongey and airy, not the "date" texture of medjools. They do have a seed in them. Basically, they're a lovely addition to my pantry. I make a mother's tea with them and enjoy eating them at the end of the drink:)

Horrible
Horrible. Made the mistake of tasting one. Thought they would at least be chewy. Not chewy, dry. The taste is so off that I spit the date right into the trash. UPDATE: Hong Zao reached out to me and offered a full refund. My order was delayed by Amazon, and according to the seller, this may have been why my dates were not edible.

Overly dry
The only flavor was around the pit where it was not dry. They did not taste sweet. They had a hint of a pleasant date flavor. Over priced for not much flavor. They were packaged well and delivered on time. They were fun to eat just too dry and not sweet.

A tasty snack w/ the benefit of Chinese herbal tradition
Jujube dates are not soft and sticky like the dates most Americans are used to; they're dry and chewy but after I read that the Shao-lin monks of China (remember the TV series Kung-fu?) eat them everyday for strength, I bought these from NestLady as there are no added chemicals etc. (the don't claim to be organic) and are reasonably priced and subscribable. Many people treat them like herbs and make tea with them, so that tells me they transfer their herbal benefits to the water so what I do now is place a week's worth in a jar and cover with filtered water; I eat 3 a day and after I eat the last one, I drink the soaking water, which by this time has begun to ferment, like cider, and has a pleasant taste and light fizziness. It's a good way to get the benefits of both "tea" and the dates and fiber etc. themselves. Try it; you'll like it!
