A big step up
Let me be totally blunt. These PX7 s3's are a big step up from the PX7 2e's. And they made me wish I hadn't purchased the 2e's. Here's my opinion on the S3's.... 1. As usual, the build quality is exceptional. They're lighter than the 2e's. And better designed for the head. The clamping force is firmer without being uncomfortable. 2. Noise cancelling is not as important in my world. There has to be some outside noise leakage to let me hear things I may want to hear?. The NC works to a point. And it's good enough for me. 3. Battery life is what I expected. Up to 30 hours with NC on is good. I know there are h/phones with longer battery life out there. But how many of you wear your h/phones for the whole of the batteries charge cycle?. I know I don't. So it's a moot point really. The 30 hours are long enough. 4. Sound quality. I'm not a big fan of "graphic EQ's". I find that I constantly fiddle with them to improve sound without the need to. These S3's have a 5 band EQ. But I don't use it. The S3's have a "True Sound" facility in the app. And its very good indeed. The balance of sound is pretty much what I strive for when I'm messing around with said EQ. There is plenty of bass e.g. But it doesn't overpower the mids or highs. And once the "run in" period is reached. The S3's will have a balanced sound. P.s, the volume of these S3's is loud. At 50% they may cause hearing issues?. I'm using my pair at 35% volume, and thats more than enough. 5. The price of these are at a higher end than most other h/phones. But when compared to B&O's e.g. They are reasonable. Apparently the PX8 S2 is to be released later this year. And with Spatial Audio. But also later this year (via an update) the PX7 S3's will be Spatial compatible too. The PX8's are supposed to be B&W's flagship model. But they would have REALLY special to match these S3's. I do highly recommend buying these. Especially when the updates appear later this year.

The Audiophileโs "Commuter" Choice: Why I bought these despite owning the Px8 S2
I am an audio enthusiast with a massive collection of high-end gear, including the B&O H100, Focal Bathys, and both the B&W Px8 and Px8 S2. You might wonder why I would buy the Px7 S3 when I already own "better" headphones. The answer is simple: Peace of mind. โI needed a daily driver for my commuteโsomething that sounds great but isn't so expensive that Iโm constantly worried about risk, damage, or theft on the train. โSound Comparison: Px7 S3 vs. Px8 & Px8 S2 If you are deciding between these models, here is the honest truth from someone who owns them all: โBass: The Px8 series is undeniably superior here. The carbon cone drivers in the Px8 (and especially the S2) offer a tighter, punchier, and more visceral bass response. The Px7 S3 is good, but comparatively, the low end is a bit more polite and less defined. โSoundstage: This is the biggest difference. The Px8 S2 has a holographic, wide presentation that separates instruments beautifully. The Px7 S3 feels more "closed-in" and intimate. โDetail: The Px8 S2 retrieves details that the S3 glosses over. โWhy the Px7 S3 is still the right buy Despite the Px8 S2 being the sonic winner, the Px7 S3 is the better choice for a "beater" pair. โPrice-to-Risk Ratio: It offers 85-90% of the B&W house sound for a price that makes them much less stressful to wear in public or toss in a bag. โComfort & Build: They share the excellent build quality B&W is known for, but with slightly more utilitarian materials that feel durable enough for the daily grind. โCompetence: Even if the soundstage is smaller, the tuning is still fun, engaging, and miles ahead of standard consumer headphones. โPros: โValue: Significant cost savings over the Px8 while keeping the B&W DNA. โPracticality: Perfect for commuting where you don't want to risk ยฃ600+ headphones. โBuild: Premium feel without being overly delicate. โTuning: Enjoyable, warm sound signature that is great for on-the-go listening. โCons: โSoundstage: Noticeably narrower and less holographic than the Px8 S2. โBass Authority: Lacks the deep, visceral punch of the Px8โs carbon drivers. โDetail: Smooths over micro-details that higher-end models reveal. โVerdict If you want the absolute best audio performance B&W offers for home or office listening, spend the extra money on the Px8 S2. However, if you are like me and need a high-quality companion for the commute that saves your flagship gear from the wear and tear of travel, the Px7 S3 is the perfect pragmatic choice.

Exceptional Audiophile Quality Headphones with Limited Faults
I've been looking for a pair of headphones that do it all for me, that I can buy for a decent price and keep for years to come not needing to swap out to anything else, and these definitely seem the one. B&W have always been sensational when it comes to sound quality, having utilised their speakers in the past, but when it comes to music I enjoy headphones, and although wired will always be superior sound quality, there really isn't much in it when it comes to Bluetooth Vs Wired in these headphones. Sound quality these are exceptional - perfect bass, sensational treble and mid-tones, highs are also not too overwhelming as well. Bluetooth is easy to connect as well with their app, with a built in EQ (which I did utilise) - I found they were fractionally too quiet for me, although tuning the EQ on the app made it perfect, and due to the in-built amp in the headphones, the EQ increase didn't result in any loss of quality, but it would have been nice to be slightly louder out of box. Comfort wise, they are so comfortable - feel so light on the head that you forget they are on, although one slight issue is they are a bit slidy on the head - so jogging with them on is pretty much out of the question on the tightest section. But I didn't buy these for exercise - they are great out and about on a gentle walk or at the shops, and great indoors of course. These headphones do have the option to be utilised wired as well so you can retain that extra margin of quality, and comes with both charging cable and aux (although only USB-C from the headphones themselves). Battery life is incredible - I actually fell asleep with them on and 8 hours later was surprised to be on 45% (started on 67%). Another small downside are the headphone's buttons - honestly they are awful - so small and I can never find them easily (doesn't really matter though as I just use my phone controls, or my PC) but it can be frustrating if you're often utilising the buttons. Honestly cannot really fault these headphones apart from the minor things mentioned - these are the best all-round headphones I've ever used. Superior sound quality with the ease of wireless with minimal loss of quality. Perfect price for the years you'll get out of them - make the jump, it'll save you money in the long run instead of buying cheaper headphones that will break easier in a year.

Great sound, the best on the market at this price range. Average ANC though
Firstly B & W should be praised for its open sound. The slimline look is very nice as well. Being slim line has a disadvantage that wasn't present on the previous PX7 series in that the buttons are more faff to find. You get used to it but it was perfect before and not so now. The sound can be tweaked in the app. I find them somewhat bassy out of the box but that is easily calmed in the app. Volume is the loudest I have heard on any heaphone there is plenty of headroom so no issue there. Speaking of the app it just basic. Noise Cancelling is OK it blocks quite a bit of noise but lacks the quietness of the Sony XM6 or Quiet Comfort Ultra. Both of those cans dont sound anywhere near as good though. Fit is fine for my head and build quality is superb as is the case. They are bettered by the PX8S2 but not by much. Battery life is solid as well giving you 30 hours before recharging. I have no connectivity issues.

Unfortunately, these headphones are just too small for my big head
Unfortunately, these headphones are too small for my big head. At full extension, I still couldn't get them to sit comfortably on my head. In addition, the ear cups are too small for my big ears. They are great headphones in every other respect, great sound, decent app, etc. They aren't much use though, if I can't wear them comfortably. Not recommended for the big headed and big eared among us.

Well made, with a balanced and enjoyable sound
They are nicely made and feel solid. Out of the box they sound very good, balanced but perhaps with a bias towards bass. I'm happy with the sound but there is a 5 band equaliser in the app if you need it. I find the sound more enjoyable than the Sony WH-1000XM4 and 5 both of which I've owned. I enjoy the PX7 more than my pair of open backed wired headphones driven by a good quality DAC/amp. The exception being the soundstage which isn't as wide but instruments are still well separated within the soundstage. The noise cancelling is effective and better than my Earfun Wave Pro. The Wave Pro worked very well on a plane so I'd expect the PX7 s3 to work at least as well. The ambient mode worked nicely when I did some spoken French lessons - Duolingo was able to recognise the words I spoke with no problem. They are a snug fit over my ears but they might be a bit too snug for some. I've been able to connect via Bluetooth to an iPad, an Android phone and an Amazon Fire Cube. I've connected via the included USB type C cable to both iPad and an Android phone. On the iPad the PX7 sounded better connected via cable, but on the Android device there was little difference. So far the app has worked fine with no glitches. Overall, I like the PX7 S3 a lot. There are places where I wouldn't feel safe wearing expensive kit like the PX7 S3, but for those places my Earfun Wave Pros will fill in nicely.

Exceptional quality
A case of "you get what you pay for" these headphones are pricey but the sound quality is outstanding. Although you have some tweakability in the EQ of the app, they sound perfect straight out of the box. There's an emphasis on bass and high end which gives a well balanced sound in all genres. Bowers & Wilkins are a British designed brand that have been around for decades. I hadn't heard of them before but all reviewers rate them extremely highly and I have to agree. Build quality is also exceptional, with a premium look and high quality materials used. They don't feel too weighty and they are comfortable to wear for extended periods. Backed up with an excellent 30hr battery life, you can easily wear these on a long haul flight without fatigue. There's plenty of room for your ears in the ear cups and the cushioning is definitely plush enough. They connect very fast and can swap between 2 seperate devices almost instantly. You also have the option to connect via a USB to headphone jack for direct connection. There's also an attractive hard case to store them in. Controls are push button, so no touch controls to get frustrated with (and you can operate them with gloves on of course). They offer an excellent ANC, and have a useful feature of pausing playback when you lift either of the cups from your ear. They may not be quite as noise cancelling as the other big players out there but they are pretty close and certainly I have no complaints on this. Negative points are not deal breakers. The clamping is a little tight, but I am assured they do relax a little as you wear them in. The app is very basic (but functional) it only offers a 5 band EQ and it's quite subtle. 3D audio isn't available yet, it's promised later this year (2025). They aren't foldable but they aren't bulky, so the case is quite compact. They are a worthwhile upgrade to the previous generation S2 and arguably better than the current P8 model. Overall these headphones are top quality and will not disappoint.

Finally, Comfortable & Great-Sounding Headphones with Outstanding Bluetooth Codec Implementation
Outstanding! I went through several pairs of headphones to find one that fits, especially given my large ears. Finally, I found a pair that combines excellent sound quality, comfort, high-quality materials, support for the latest audio codecs, and distortion-free, low-latency performance when using the aptX Adaptive LL codec. The microphones work great for calls, and the transparency mode is impressive. I tested the AirPods Max, Bose QuietComfort Ultra, Sennheiser Momentum 4, Sonos Ace, and Bowers & Wilkins PX8, but I struggled to find a pair that excelled in every category according to my requirements. Just when I was about to settle for the PX8, which unfortunately had a poor implementation of aptX Adaptive LL (Low Latency), the PX7 S3 was released. I didn't hesitate to order them, and thankfully, they really delivered! Here are the highlights: - Excellent sound quality - Spacious earcups; the internal speaker drivers do not touch my ears - Comfortable clamping force, allowing me to wear them for hours without causing cabin pressure, listening fatigue, or headband discomfort - Great battery life - Features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Sound platform chipset, with all expected Bluetooth codecs implemented well, especially Adaptive LL and Lossless - Good transparency mode, ranking just below the AirPods Max, Bose, and Sonos Ace - Improved active noise cancellation, which I find sufficient. I primarily use them in an office setting, so I can't speak to their full potential outdoors. However, they perform well in my environment, although the AirPods Max, Sonos, and Bose QC Ultra still take the top spots. That said, there's noticeable improvement over Bowers & Wilkins' previous models! Overall, the PX7 S3 headphones are a fantastic choice: very comfortable, excellent sound quality, and a great suite of audio codecs that are well-implemented over Bluetooth!

Superb sound out of the box even better build quality and feel,
I purchased a seinnheiser acentum plus a Sony xm6 and now this PX7 S3. Obviously the cheaper option was eliminated in the first trial but I wanted to know if a cheap headphone from a big name company would be a good move. Then comes the Sonys, impeccable ANC (slightly better than the B&W) good not great when it comes to sound even with different 10 band EQ profiles. The XM6 also felt bulkier, weird style with the cups protruding out of my head substantially, people looked at me different on the streets. Well now comes the B&W PX7 S3, low profile so it won't stick out, beautiful design (despite being subjective to the user), amazing build materials with texture, metal and solid buttons. The ear cups has more space so your ears will fit in the cavity instead of being pressed like in the XM6, the drivers are also at an angle so it follows the profile of the ears, ear cups are comfortable and of premium material that are soft but not too compressed against your head. ANC is good but below XM6 BUT remember that the first duty of the headphone is sound AND BOY LET ME TELL YOU, what an amazing experience listening with these. Crisp voices and mid tones, well separated base , great volume. Overall a superior class overall the X6 for sure. 24bit audio over USB C, and Qualcomm codecs for this with the greatest and latest android phones like me. Despite the price believe me those will be a long run kind of headphones.

Worth the Price
Superb sound

Not perfect
The sound is really good but they need to improve the ANC as it is less than Sony and Bose. Also, when you wear it for an hour you will feel discomfort.
