It gets the job done. My coffee beans were left a powder consistency which was exactly what I was looking for. I had to ground them about 3 times in 30 second intervals. I let the grinder rest 30s in between each cycle. It is a bit loud but that is not a issue for me. Its small and can easily be stored up in a counter.

I was looking for a replacement for my 30+ year old coffee grinder which still worked, but the plastic lid was deteriorating and a new lid costed as much as a new grinder. My main goal was to find one that would not cause plastic chards to end up in my coffee. Since my last one out lived the plastic lid, longevity didn't seem like a big problem if it was well cared for, but I still wanted something with great functionality and durability. My husband grinds spices, so versatility was also an objective. So far, we have only used it for coffee beans, but I am very impressed! The removable cup is fantastic because it's easy to clean, especially if you are switching from different spices. Secondly, the inner lid contains the coffee so residual powder does not end up on my counter and floor anymore. The cup is ALL METAL without plastic parts as far as I can see. I don't see any visible plastic under the blade like other models. The plastic inner lid seals tight and is so high up that the coffee doesn't smash against it when grinding so it's protected from wearing away. The start lever allows control of the grinding duration. I use fast pulses to initially break up the beans to prevent large pieces from hitting the plastic lid. Then once smaller, I hold the lever down for 3 10-15 second rounds and my coffee is grounded very finely. The motor is stronger than my older one, so I see why they caution overheating it, but the strength also makes unnecessary to grind for a long time. It is heavy and sturdy, so it's built with quality parts. The outer lid and metal cup both easily lock into place with a slight twist, as a safety feature. The cord is long enough and it is small and the SS design is attractive. It doesn't make excessive noise. The price is right without sacrificing design or functionality. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with other seeds, salt, and cinnamon. I would smash the cinnamon first with a big flat rock or mortar and pestle because it's very hard. Then I'd do quick pulses to break it up as I do the coffee beans. Overall, I am very impressed and very happy with my purchase. I will definitely consider SHARDOR as a serious brand when I need to buy other products because my experience with this coffee grinder!

Best coffee grinder ever! I'm a coffee lover and I like to grind my coffee beans to be fresh and fill the house with the aroma every morning. I went through a few grinders but so far this one is the best! Simple but does a great job. I can't be happier.

I like the separate cup for easier cleaning. I also like how secure the lid is. It is sturdy and does not tip over easily. The color is a winter white rather than a bright white. It cleans well. You do have to hold down the button and the longer you grind, the finer your ground. I would prefer preset grindings with one touch. But, I will admit it is nice sometimes to have control over the grind. It is a bigger footprint then I was imagining. Overall. A good buy and the quality seems like it will last. The best features are the removable cup as it is a game changer with ease of cleaning as well as the tight seal.

Update: I pulled out the grinder to give another try and it is working. You just need to not run it more than 30 seconds total per grind cycle. This is beyond a shadow of a dought the most efficient machine I have ever owned. I recommend it to everyone. quiet and efficient. I loved this grinder so much. It has a cover that stops noise. Sadly today it stopped and I smelled smoke. I bought it just 40 days ago so Amazon gave refund even though it was past the 30 days. I would have given 10 stars if this did not happen.

My immediate need and foremost reason for this purchase was to grind chia seeds, since the experts say that only when they are ground can you get the full nutritional benefit. I plan to use it for coffee beans as well, which I am anxious to try with a new french coffee press I ordered. I selected this product mainly because the cup was stainless steel, in addition to the s.s. blades. The chia seeds are so tiny that I could not fathom how they would make adequate contact with the blades. But boy, do they ever! It was uber effective in grinding, and further testing proved that those seeds can be made into a fine powder. After reading some of the negative reviews on this grinder, I decided not to put the motor to very much testing. In other words, I do periodic "pulsing" every 10 second rather than 30 seconds. This grinder has a fabulous design and is easy to clean. I was hoping for a smaller thumbprint, but again, the stainless steel cup was a rare find at this price, so I will get used to the size.

I've been wearing dentures for over a year, and one of the things I miss the most, is not being able to eat nuts and seeds. So I saw this grinder on Lightening Deals, and thought I'd give it a try. I am now able to grind nuts & seeds down so I can include them again in oatmeal, salads, yogurt, etc...Another plus, is that since I'm able to add nuts and seeds again, it brought my HDL Cholesterol up, and my LDL Cholesterol down, not to mention adding additional fiber and protein to my diet, being an old chick with diabetes! The unit is so ridiculously easy to put together, use, and clean that I'm kicking myself for not thinking of it previously. I've had other grinders in my life, but NONE were as easy, durable, and precise as this one. I highly recommend it, especially if you're trying to improve your Cholesterol readings, have difficulty chewing, or want some extra protein and fiber in your diet. A diet with adequate protein and fiber are essential to preventing complications associated with diabetes. I say this as a retired nurse, and someone who has lived with the disease for 50+ years.
