Perfect for any vehicle on Earth, the best PCMO made.
Pennzoil Pure Base is the best passenger car motor oil available. I only wonder why in the world doesn't Pennzoil claim the ACEA A5 spec, which is "self-reported", meaning it's not a pay-to-play label like European car mfgs whose royalty is $500k for 3 years. People know ACEA A3 from Euro cars speced for VW 502 etc et al, but A5 spec is just as "good", only thinner. Well, unless you are driving on the Autobahn or Nurburgring, you are unlikely to overheat your oil and need the extra visc of a 40 weight. More likely you are cold starting it in the Midwest and driving 2 miles short trip to pick up kids, smokes and lottery tickets....not even reaching full operating temp! I admit I use 5w-30 in my Audi turbo in winter, it's thinner than 0w-40 in cold and simply works better. 5w-40 is insanely thick in cold, so good luck with that unless you want to think about it....back before auto mfg were required to spec only a single grade of oil for mpg regulations...

Pennzoil protection for all seasons.
This is my Holy Grail oil for my IS300. This is a great product at a better price then most and I just love how it works with my car. I don't expect any horsepower gains but it makes the engine smoother and revs much better than normal conventional oils. I've heard Pennzoil has a lot of experience in oil making and I can see that with this oil.

Pennzoil Ultra 5W-30 Too Expensive
This product is way overpriced. I can get it at WallMart for 30% cheeper!! The only reason I bought it from Amazon is I was away from a WallMart for about a week.

It is indeed oil.
It's oil, it does what it says. I put it in my 2014 Focus ST and the only thing I noticed is that my oil temperature gauge doesn't go as high as it did with the motorcraft oil that used to be in it. I'm not sure if that's an issue or not but I do definitely trust this oil more than the motorcraft stuff so I'm not too worried about it.

Nice oil however it's still cheaper to get mobil one
A great price on Amazon however the 5W-30 is not on a subscribe and buy option at Amazon. I probably won't buy this again and will go back to mobil one from Walmart in the big jug

Good oil, unfortunately for my application it's not up to the task. I got 3 - 5 qt jugs when they were only $28 each earlier this year - with the Pennzoil rebate I was able to get the jugs for under $20 which was a steal. Now that they have changed the appearance of the bottles to the yellow ones the price has jumped up significantly. In the 5w-30 flavor 6 quarts is $54 dollars now which is equal to the the price of a few boutique oils. This is being used in a 17 WRX STI which is notorious for being hard on oil in addition to being a oil burner; the last oil analysis had a TBN of 5.2 @ 4,100 miles which is great; but the oil sheared down to a 20 weight oil (cSt @ 100 c = 8.94) also once I've reached 3,000 miles on a given oil change with this oil I've burned .5 qt's. Due to price increase it will give me a reason to switch to a more stout oil like Motul X-clean 5w-30 FE - for the increase of roughly $15 I'll be willing to pay to make the switch.

Works great.
Been weeks now and my motor has not seized. I've always been a Mobil1 guy, but Pennzoil has made some big claims about their oil and superior cleaning ability. I contact Mobil1 and all they could say is their oil meets or exceeds manufacturer's recommendations. Sounded like a qualified "their oil is better" to me, so Pennzoil gets my business until Mobil1 can tell me why I should buy them instead. I'm sure they all lubricate parts effectively, but why not buy something that, according to marketing people, works better? At the time of purchase they had a rebate as well that made the price compelling enough for me to stock up and max out the rebate value. I am set for at least a year with oil for all 3 of my cars.

All turbo charged Subarus should come with this. Significantly ...
All turbo charged Subarus should come with this. Significantly less engine knocking and noise compared to the dealer Subaru synthetic oil (that they push so hard). My 2.0L XT Forester experienced significant engine knocking (the vehicle would shake side to side) when traveling up hill with the AC on at highway speeds. Even after having the spark plugs replaced, ICT software updated and cylinder leak down test the problem persisted. When I ran out of free oil changes from the dealer I switched to the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and all the excessive knocking went away. Fuel economy improved 1 MPG as well. It is also worth noting the engine had some oil consumption that went away with this oil. All around 5 stars. Subaru needs to run Pennzoil Platinum from the factory.
