This rain gauge is awesome! Well made. Easy to install. The water chamber is large with easy to read scale. It’s incredibly simple to life to chamber out of the holder and empty the water.

This item replaced a much fancier rain gauge that just got old and inoperable. This is a good replacement for what we had.

Really appreciate the plastic gauge so it won't break when I forget to take it in!

I have had this rain gauge for one year. I bought it because my previous one was not made of ‘Freeze Proof Plastic’ and cracked. I live in Eastern Virginia. It gets cold here, but not usually below 15 degrees at the coldest. We are about to expect rain, so went out to retrieve the gauge and clean it out and discovered it was cracked almost from top to bottom! So, it is not “freeze proof.” I like this product because of it’s base and easy to read graduations. I will buy this one more time, but next winter I will take it in for the season.

Purchased this in the fall of ‘24. My Dad was always fascinated by the weather. He had rain gauges as many of his older neighbors did. Dark humored as Dad could be he’d occasionally add or subtract water to a neighbor’s gauge then later get into conversations with them. Dad was amused by the neighbor’s befuddlement over measuring 4” of rain while the local weatherman would report only 1/3”…even more fun that Dad would show his said 1/3". Sorry to go off topic but if you want a fun alternative use of your gauge that’ll give you & your neighbors something to discuss, Dad says “you’re welcome.” Anyway now I’ve reached an age where I am more interested in the weather especially now that my lawn is drying up most years by July so a rain gauge purchase was inevitable. Easy to set up/install & easy to use. It’s a rain gauge so it’s not rocket science-the numbers & division markings are very clear. I couldn’t be happier with this rain gauge until our temperatures started dropping into the teens & 20s. I go to empty the gauge out of habit then realize it’s got an inch of ice. The ice wouldn’t fall out when I turned it over so I figured no big deal, I’ll let it thaw in the kitchen sink. As I came in I showed the ice filled gauge to my wife only to see the bottom was cracked. Ran in to check if this was still returnable to learn I’m 5 weeks past the return window. Worst of all this gauge has “freeze proof” in its main title. This was otherwise a perfect product but not being freeze proof renders it useless. So friends you’ve been warned. I hate to give a low rating but this thing failed. I’ll try to contact the manufacturer to see if they’ll do anything. If they do, I’ll happily pass along what happens. ***final update (March '25) the company was UNRESPONSIVE to my messages...they don't care.

Nice rain gauge can be seen at a distants. My 2nd order for this same gauge.

So happy with this rain gauge. Screwed into my fence just fine amd no rust or cracking after this whole time...even when it froze over during our cold snap.

As others have stated, out of the packaging this unit is not accurate at all. 1.9" of rain in a proven accurate gauge measured 2.9" in this one. However, I used a hacksaw to cut it off just below the flared rim and it now reads perfectly! I do like the larger the size and the blue background up to the water level. Makes it easy to read from inside the house. With a little self modification its not a bad unit.

Sturdy, very easy to read . Easily installed.

Nice simple design. No electronics or calibration to do. Just install vertically, and check the reading after rain.

It does what it should. I like the fact the container is big, the blue strip and the big numbers make it easy to read from indoors. One star off for the very sharp point at the bottom, could be dangerous if you hit your head in it. It had a plastic nib on it but it fell off and went under the deck. I'm just going to take some pliers and curve that sharp end in so nobody gets hurt on it. If its meant to go in the ground, it should have a little ground stake, not that sharp point if you want it on a fence.

Just as seen, works great. Stands alone in metal stand in dirt, we have insane wind and it has so far held up. I did not mount it on post yet. Nice big size, easy to see from a distance
