Great Juicer If You're Tired of Hurting Hands!
My husband bought me this juicer as a Christmas gift, so it won't show as a "verified purchase," but I assure you, he did purchase it for me. Before I had this juicer, I was using a Le Creuset hand juicer, the kind you squeeze with both hands. Juicing an orange was okay, but trying to juice a lemon with a thick rind was a nightmare, and I was squeezing lemons for water every day. All I wanted for Christmas was something better for my lemons! I scoped out all of the options. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a juicer, but I wanted something that would stop making my hands hurt so much and that would make juicing easier. I looked carefully at all of the options, read all of the reviews, and this is the one I chose. It's a heavy thing. And it's kind of tall. I think you'd have to love it so much you don't mind the look of it - and that's where I fall. Because let's face it: it's not a pretty piece of equipment. It has an industrial look to it. It's very simple to use. You slice your fruit and center it under the presser, then push the handle down. Occasionally if it's a really thick rind or a big fruit (like the occasional grapefruit), you do have to push hard enough that the back feet lift a little, but I've never felt I was in any danger of this thing toppling over. I used to hurt my hand with my other juicer because I'd open it up to take the fruit out, and the top part would fall back down and smack my knuckle. This juicer doesn't do that - it stays open until you close it. Cleaning it is simple - nothing really "locks" into place, but there are two parts to rinse off. To clean it, we remove the fruit, then remove the thing I call the "seed catcher" and rinse it off, and then we remove the last piece and rinse it off. We leave the pieces out to air dry and put them back later. It's now been a month and a half since I received my juicer, and I can honestly say that I have never used a single item in my entire kitchen as much and as often as I use this juicer. We leave it out on our counter all day. We've used it to squeeze lemons, limes, oranges, and grapefruits, and it handles all with relative ease. I haven't found the fruit it can't juice. Most importantly, no more hurting hands! I feel a little silly getting so excited about a juicer, but I guess I was just really miserable with the old juicer and tired of getting my hands hurt. I guess everyone would dislike hand pain, but I'm also a violinist, so I *really* didn't want to keep using that horrible old thing. Love, love, love this juicer, and I anticipate it'll have a place in our kitchen for a very long time.

I've had this for over a year– I recommend it, but with a few things to keep in mind!!
After a year of using this presser regularly, I can confidently say a few things: Firstly the Pros: It's a great investment if you really, really love freshly squeezed juice on the daily and want something that will last a long time and get the job done. I've squeezed a variety of small and larger grapefruits, oranges, limes and lemons with ease. You get great juice extraction in little time, barely breaking a sweat, and it's super easy to clean and maintain. The Cons: It's heavy as heck, (duh! it's cast iron) and can be bit of a hassle moving around your kitchen if you're a small gal like me. Most importantly, you're gonna find that the bolts loosen over time (more and more frequently with use), and will need to be re-tightened in order to get that tension for squeezing back! This can be irritating and tedious and may be a deal breaker for many buyers. Otherwise, I recommend this product!

WOW! Just what I expected and more.
Fantastic appliance to have in the kitchen! We juice a quarter bushel or more of citrus each week. It was getting to be a boring chore with the cone and cup style juicer. My wife drinks 8-16 ounces of grapefruit juice each day. When this came out of the box the joint screws were set at various degrees of tightness. The unit was stiff to operate. I loosened some screws and tightened some others for a smooth operation and less stiffness. No doubt, the screws will require regular maintenance attention as they may loosen with use. I've used the juicer for grapefruit, oranges, and lemons. Some larger grapefruit need to be quartered instead of halved for effective use. My wife likes fruit flesh in her juice. I was manually scraping that out of the squeezed rind with a spoon when using the cone and cup style juicer. This unit eliminates that step. It pushes citrus flesh through the strainer and into your catch cup but holds back the seeds. For someone who doesn't like fruit flesh in the your juice, you could easily add a wire strainer step to your process. The unit is moderately wide and heavy on the base but I find that I still need to hold the base down firmly when pushing down the lever to squeeze juice. This is not a problem at all. I mention it only because some reviewers complained about stability. A larger base would help but then the unit would require more surface for storage. Clean up is a breeze. The top cone, strainer, and funnel are easily removed for washing by hand or in the dishwasher. I wipe down the rest of the unit with a damp cloth. Overall, we couldn't be more happy with this purchase.

Fantastic contraption! Highly recommended.
What a great juicer! My first juicer of this type, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it works wonderfully. Juicing oranges and grapefruits is effortless. It works with small limes and lemons just as easily. And it does let some pulp through, so I love it even more - because I love pulp. It can tilt forward if you apply more force to the handle, yet that is a complete non-issue because all you have to do is hold it on the back with one finger. Anyway, when using a manual juicer you position yourself to its side, so it is very normal, and almost a reflex to use the other hand to hold the machine in place. I have not yet experienced any slipping or sliding (appears in some reviews). The machine is rather heavy and stable. The juicer tray is huge. People complain that you can't juice very big oranges. But I wonder what kind of mutant oranges they want to squeeze? Or maybe they put watermelons in there, who knows. There are two things to do before using: tighten all screws with a hex screwdriver, and oil the shaft and joints (any kitchen oil will do).

Pros vs Cons
Pro:Good product. I have had it for roughly a week now. Its very sturdy, and looks to be all stainless steal and metal. its very simple to use, and does not require to much to much force. Its fairly inexpensive. Compared to my other electronic juicer, this defiantly works better with oranges. Cons: After using it on 10 oranges, i find that the device that is attached to the pull down lever swivels a small bit. It doesn't mess with the juicing process, however i am worried it may get worse with more use. (i will update in a few weeks) I also want to note, that i went to three different grocery stores (Sams club, Krogers, and Food Lion) and could not find any oranges that fit perfectly in this machine. The smallest orange i was able to find was still 20% to large for this machine. It still worked, but just not as efficiently. The cone that presses the orange down, is fixed in place. Not built for easy cleaning

very practical and nice finish
It is a very nice and functional juice press. Super easy and fast to clean, it is very easy to press juice out of lemons, grape, fruit etc. As it is so easy to use and clean, we use it even if we have to squeeze out only one or two lemons. It looks very nice and has an elegant finish. The only detail that is not perfect, is that the handle sometimes falls down suddenly when you leave it uplifted, and you have to be a little bit careful with that. Overall it is very much worth the money, we are happy with the product and I highly recommend it.

Perfect for arthritic hands. Really Restaurant size and quality.
Bigger than I expected. More perfect than I expected. Really a commercial, restaurant machine. If you have arthritis in your hands and not much strength and like freshly squeezed orange juice, lemons or limes for ades, you must have one of these. Only a few dollars more than the hand-held squeezers that still require strength in your hands to operate. Clean up is easy, I just wipe the inside of the top with a damp towel and rinse the pulp residue from the two bottom pieces under hot running water. For the first cleaning, unscrew the top cone and wash. You will get a black residue that is from the manufacturing process and will wash off. Looking up from the bottom, remember "Righty Tighty, Lefty Loosey", to remove the cone. When re-installing the cone, put a drop of olive oil in the socket. I don't know whether the screw threaded parts are stainless steel or not, so that will keep them from rusting, if they are not. Finish is nice, the cones are stainless steel, the base and handle are probably steel. For a juice container, a wide-mouth pint mason jar is perfect.

The Amazon app comes through
We saw the bartender at Matt's in the Market using one of these to squeeze limes for our margaritas. It looked pretty easy to use and extremely effective at getting the juice out of the limes. We asked the bartender a bit about it, then we opened up the Amazon app on our iPhone. (What a bunch of stereotypes we are.) There it was among the first few juicers on the list, and on sale even, the juicer we saw working so well before us. We clicked the buy button and there it was waiting for us on our return from Seattle. We've used it to make our own margaritas as well as mai tais, test pilots and hells in the pacific for our luau. It squeezes limes easily and completely. All the juice flows right down into our waiting tumbler. (It doesn't come with a jar or glass or bowl for catching the juice, but we have a moderately well equipped kitchen, so this was no problem.) It's easy to use. Cut the lime in half, put each half in turn onto the metal squeezer and then use the powerful lever arm to squash the lime flat. This is a sturdily made device with a heavy frame, so a good hard squeeze amplified by the mechanical advantage of the lever arm has a lot of squeezing power. We used to worry before our luaus. Squeezing several dozen limes for exotic Hawaiian cocktails used to mean tedious work and acid fingers. With this gadget it's just slice and squeeze.

Bueno y bonito. Barato no.

AWSOME BUY
I have only used it a few times, but just got it. Strong design, though only long use will tell for sure. This citrus press does the job fast, east, and cleanly. Easy to wash the removable parts. Now I can enjoy fresh orange, lemon, lime, or grapefruit juice every day. I'm sure it probably also does other things like tomatoes, grapes, and mandarins, with extra care.
