Much better than the IQ products!
I had the 3 probe kit from IQ and it worked fine. The problem was that you had to keep the main unit right next to the grill and it didn’t work if you wrapped the food in aluminum foil. This product creates its own wi-fi network and can be used from anywhere over the internet. The probes are also thinner, so they’re easier to use and most importantly, it transmits through foil and lasts much longer. In addition, the probes measure and transmit the temperatures from multiple points on the probe so you get a much more precise picture of how the items are cooking. Granted, this item is expensive and will probably be overkill for most cooks, but if you really want to level up your smoking and/or grilling, this device will DEFINITELY get it done!

A rare “MUST BUY” from Mr. Cynical!!!
Has amazing reach with the WiFi portion and the portion works seamlessly as well! I really like everything about these probes. I bought the set that had two probes about a week before thanksgiving and right after I turned around and bought the set of 4 probes!! Love the 1000° limit so I’m not freaking out when I open my grill and sometimes the flames have flared up and I think “Great there goes my investment in wireless probes (from another brand)”! This is a must buy if you cook indoors or outdoors and want perfect control of the temperature of your food.

Gateway stopped working before use.
Just got mine in the mail, took forever to connect WiFi to app. Especially that I didn’t know it only connected to a 2.4gh WiFi signal. Once I did get it connected, (I had it on the included charger the whole time) it completely stopped working. Won’t turn on at all anymore didn’t even get to use it 😩 will update if he gets replaced.

Impressive! Replacing my current "wireless" solution.
TL;DR - It's everything you expect from their sensors, but actually wireless. The set-up was a breeze and I could quickly get a cook underway after it was delivered. I am looking forward to buying more probes to fully replace my existing "wireless" solution. *Pros - Charged on arrival. Clean the probe and get ready to cook. - App configuration was simple. - Quality materials. Nothing hollow or flimsy about the wireless base, the sensor, or the charger for the probe. - Probe case is also the charger. I'm not charging then storing; it's all-in-one. - The base and the probe case have magnetic backs. This keeps them out of drawers and off the limited surface space while grilling/cooking. - Everything just works together without being an expert. - Range is amazing *Cons The only con that I can see is that some may not want to use batteries for the probes charging base. Personally, I'd hate to have 3 or 4 probe bases hooked to cables.. I appreciate the single battery in each probe base to handle all the charging.

Great signal strength. Fewer features than previous bluetooth probes.
This is my third wireless temperature probe purchase. The first two were Bluetooth systems (made by other companies), and, while the feature sets were nice, they were SO unreliable that I ended up throwing the last one away mid-cook, in a fit of rage. (The first one was so unreliable that my wife threw it away by ACCIDENT, thinking it was broken!) Anyway, the ThermoWorks RFX two probe wireless system I bought seems to work well so far. I'm a little surprised at the limited feature set, given the premium price (2 - 3 x as much as prior units!). These units do not have an "ambient temperature" reading, so you have to trust your stove or grill thermometer. (I just assumed it would have this feature; it seems pretty basic.) Nor is there a "cook time calculation" feature. Those were always pretty nebulous anyway, but it was kind of handy to have a general idea of timing. I DO LIKE (very much) the simplicity, and the fact that ThermoWorks didn't try to "link me to an online community", which seems to be an obsession with other temp probe companies. ( I didn't buy a temp probe to "join a community" or chat, or any of that stuff!) I did still have to download an app, and set it up, which didn't go super-smoothly, but I figured it out. I like how thin the probes are, and I LOVE how strong the radio signal is. So far, it's a solid, well-functioning product that's a little bit pricey, and a little bit under-featured.

Accurate. Wireless. A total Game Changer.
We bought the RFX meat thermometer because we wanted accurate and continuous temperature monitoring while smoking meat on our smoker. We've realized over years of smoking meat that temperature really does matter in making an amazing finished product! In the past, we have had problems with bluetooth thermometers losing connection so we were intrigued by this thermometer's wifi capabilities. The set-up was easy. Once we got it connected to our wifi (note, only works with 2.4 gHz wifi signal), we used it to smoke a brisket on our Recteq Smoker. The Recteq has a very thick metal lid and would always block the bluetooth signal on other thermometers. However, the RFX thermometer connected quickly and gave a continuous temperature read throughout the entire cook time. We used other probes to test the temperature accuracy and the temperature was accurate throughout the whole smoking process. We did notice that it had a hard time emitting a signal through foil once it was wrapped. We will use parchment in the future. It was nice to monitor the temperature from the app! We have been really happy with this thermometer and highly recommend it!

Disappointing.
Didn't work well for me. Connectivity issues and 3 of the 4 batteries only lasting an hour. Impossible to smoke a brisket with. Returned the next day.

Best remote thermostat ever
This system was the easiest and most effective system I've ever used. I even used it on a hamburger on the grill to get the burger just right for my wife. It even worked in a roast in a cast iron Le crusette pan in an oven. It worked through the oven walls and cast iron pan. The readout on the phoneis so accurate and graphic It even register you body temp while your holding it. I ordered 3 more reading sensors so I can track 4 things at once.

Probe doesn’t hold a charge - died twice on a 8hr cook with a recharge
Disappointed. Did lots of research before ordering. Looking for a high end wireless probe. The hype was there for the RFX and the reviews looked well etc. received it. Set it up that was easy, charged it and went to do my first cook with it, the probe died within 3.5hrs, while I was still cooking removed the probe, cleaned it, charged it for half an hour. The led light on the dock stopped blinking indicating fully charged. Out it back in the meat and continued to monitor, probe read 100% battery. 3-4 hours later already down to 20% Not trustworthy if you aren’t around. Was hoping this was the answer over my previous top end meater but looks like I’ll be sticking with the meater till I find something else.

Useful with multiple probes. Software could use some improvements. Great customer support.
Nice system. Seems quite accurate. Great multi-probe function. The software could use with some improvements such as clear battery remaining being prominently shown. Some predictive analytics and notifications when food cooking is complete. Also charger need some sort of light indicator to show its charging and when charging is complete without the need to power on equipment and launch the app.

Garbage product. Don't waste your money.
Title says it all. After only a few uses, the probe’s battery no longer holds a charge and dies in less than an hour. ThermoWorks had me ship it across the continent for repair or replacement, but instead of fixing or replacing it, they sent it back as is with a note saying the warranty doesn’t apply to devices purchased on Amazon. Avoid at all costs.

Low battery life for probes
RFX Meat Probe advertises a 50 hr battery life. I got about 3-4. Recharged till it read 100% on the app, tried again. Terrible probe battery life. Love the temp accuracy though lol. Back to the competition
