Interesting, Tasty Coffee Once You Understand What You're Getting Into
I drink a lot of coffee, never straight black but iced with some sort of creamer, and frequently as a frappé from my frozen drink machine. I like cinnamon well enough, so I thought I would try this. I initially had mixed feelings about it specifically in regards of the scent of the dry coffee, but when I learned about this specific café de olla style, I was able to enjoy it. So, the aroma caught me off guard at first because I was expecting a sweeter bakery-style cinnamon coffee. I looked it up and I learned that this follows the more traditional café de olla style with earthy roasted coffee, dark sugar, and simmered spice notes. Once I understood the flavor profile it made a lot more sense, even if it wasn’t completely to my personal taste at first. Given this info, I would say that the coffee smells exactly like it's supposed to, and the scent is more of an issue with me not knowing that. I had a sip of it unaltered, prepared with hot tap water, just to get oriented to the taste. It was bitter, which is to be expected. The directions say to use sweetener, so all good. I decided to try iced with some chocolate coffee creamer, and then another iced cup with milk and vanilla syrup. The taste definitely improved with sweetness. Like most coffee, I have had no problems with digestion. As noted, I have used it iced and with creamer, and so obviously you can drink this prepared simply as is (if you like plain black coffee, more power to you) or even in a frappe form. So I appreciate the variety, but honestly you can do this with almost every coffee. I did make a very nice prison coffee drink, and I will share the recipe recipe here for those who may be find the coffee to be a bit overwhelming and are looking for ways to enjoy it. Because I'm more of a dessert coffee guy, I decided to call this "Mexican Fessert Frappe". This is based on making a large batch for you and your pal using 50 oz of total fluid (adjust as necessary): 40 oz coffee base made of 2 tbsp café de olla AND 2 tbsp regular instant of your choice; 1/4 cup vanilla syrup; 1–2 tbsp caramel; and half-and-half to your desired level of richness. I'd suggest something like vanilla, white chocolate, and or caramel to really make there's something you might enjoy drinking. So, because I didn't really know what I was getting into, my initial reaction about the scent was due to my ignorance. I understand the flavor profile now, it does taste like traditional café de olla cinnamon coffee, and can be very delicious if you know what you're getting into. If you're willing to tinker with your coffee formula a little bit, if you can find a place for this in your regular coffee rotation for an earthy, rich cinnamon experience.

Very very Cinnamony
Only buy this if you really, really love cinnamon flavor. It’s very strong. I only use half teaspoon and half teaspoon my regular coffee if I’m making a small cup.

New label = different coffee
I've been drinking the nescafe cafe de olla for years because it was the only instant coffee that didn't taste like instant coffee. Absolutely delicious. However, this is the first time I ordered it with the new label, and it's a completely different instant coffee now. It tastes like it's flavored with plastic and chemicals. It's so gross I literally can't drink it. I'm so sad I won't have the original cafe de olla flavor anymore because it was so unique and delicious!

DELICIOUS TO YOUR TASTEBUDS
ADD A HEAPING TEASPOON TO a little bit of hot water in your glass .. then 3tsp sugar, 1 Splenda, 2 sweet n low, add whatever amount of SWEET AND CREAMY creamer in the red bottle … it’s the main brand of creamers u know the ones that has “original”.. the popular typical one.. can’t remember the name.. then add the CINNAMON ROLL one in same brand.. then fill u cup almost half way or 1/3 of your glass with milk or whatever milk u drink then add water stir stir stir and add ice and straw !!!!!!!! Really good with the sweet and creamy but also good with both sweet and creamy plus cinnamon roll or bun !!!!!!!!!!!!

Best coffee but bad shipping
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this coffee! I ordered this 3 times recently and Amazon shipped it in a box. The 2nd jar was shipped in a plastic bag and of course it was busted. The 3rd jar was shipped in a paper envelope and of course it busted! I'm pissed off cause who ships a glass jar in a plastic bag or paper envelope?
