Rubie's Costume Co. Lord of The Rings Elven Cloak, Multicolor, Standard

Absolutely fantastic cloak for an adult. I'm an adult male at a little over 5'9" tall and height weight proportionate and the cloak, as you can see in the pictures is just a few inches off the ground for me which to me is the ideal length. It's well made and not flimsy at all. In fact its heavy enough that it actually keeps you warm even if you wear it outside in cold weather which I did. We took some Halloween pictures and I wore an Aragorn costume with this cloak and while I won't say I was super warm the cloak definitely helped a lot to cut down on the cold with a decent wind to boot. The color is a kind of subdued grayish brown so works well if you're looking for an earth tone color. The hood is pretty awesome, giving it a kind of Assassins Creed kind of look to it. :-) The one downside was that I didn't like the way it tied together at the top. My wife cut off one tie then added a snap to it so that I just snap it together, which I would highly recommend. We were a little worried that the small snap she used would not be able to keep it together because the cloak is a bit on the heavier side, which is good because it's more heavy duty that a flimsy piece of cloth. However, the snap worked very well! I then bought an Elvin pin and pinned it to the remaining tie so when I bring the tie piece across the top to snap it into place, the Elvish pin is already in place. So basically I pinned it to the tie once and I never have to touch it again as it's always where I need it to be. Outside of my sword, this is my favorite part of the costume and easily worth the price ad can be used for other costumes as well. I also used it for a Jedi Knight costume. Jedi cloaks should have large open sleeves as well so it's not quite right for that type of outfit, but it was close enough. I wore that Jedi outfit to work for Halloween and I had 10 people ask to take my picture with many from people in departments I have no connection with which was kind of funny. Great cloak for the price that I highly recommend.

Okay, the promo picture is different from your real product. THIS IS NOT A BAD THING. It makes it better. Firstly, I am 5'10" and it basically reaches the floor on me. The color is a dark, charcoal grey with a wool-like synthetic fabric. The cloak does not close via strings, there is a cheap velcro strap on it. I cut it off immediately. Use a brooch, it will work far better. I have the official Lorien brooch from Noble Collection. If you don't wanna spend that much money(I got mine second hand for $25!), I'm sure the cheap costume version will hold it together for a little while, or use another brooch you like. The outer layer of fabric feels like a rough towel, it's not smooth. It is line in a very smooth fabric, apart from the hood. Unlike the cloaks in the film, this cloak is full-circle, meaning it can basically close up around whatever outfit you are wearing(This is the style of cloak Gandalf wore after his return). Also, it's the exact same fabric as the Gandalf the Grey costume from The Hobbit that Rubie's offers, so it will work fine with that, or as an Elf costume, or even as Gandalf the White(Who uses a grey cloak in the films until he frees Theodon in Rohan, and uses a grey one for most of his time in the books, including as Gandalf the White, eventually swapping it for a midnight blue one after Sauron is defeated, implied to be more regal). So yeah, use a brooch. Be aware it is a large cloak,and much darker than the picture. It's a bit different color than in the films, which is slightly lighter with a bit of green color. For this price? Excellent item.

I bought this Cloak to use for a Jedi Cosplay I was doing. It worked great. The robe feels nice and rest easily on your shoulders. The material was a good quality and it didn't feel like it was going to fall apart. Only thing that felt cheap about it was the strings they used to tie the front together. I wore it at Comic Con and those ripped off about 3/4 of the way through. I don't much blame the cloak because Im sure it wasnt meant to be worn all day but it was an inconvenience.

Husband wore this for our family Halloween costume. Great quality. Great look. Super comfortable. Great fit. We originally bought a different one for cheaper and it was way too thick and heavy. This one is the perfect thickness making it super easy to wear. A little pricey but worth it.

Fit was great. Length was great. You will need a pin to hold together in the front, which is expected. Was well made but a little to see through for me. I also have sensitive skin and the material was a bit rough. Otherwise it was good.

Great texture and nice and light weight - only issue is the velcro closure - it is strong enough because the cape is so light, but i feel like there could've been a just as cost effective better option (a snap, or a clasp) that wouldve made this a 5 star item. I plan on picking up a clasp to take this to the next level, but it really isnt that necessary. In putting together my fantasy/renaissance cosplay pictured, this cloak really is one of the visually best pieces due to the texture.

Listen to all the other reviews about the Velcro strap. Seriously-ORDER A FASTENER IF YOU ORDER THE CLOAK. (There are Leaves of Loth-Lorien Brooches out there, got one myself.) Mine also quite literally fell apart the first time I used it. Other than that- The cloak itself is great! Soft, probably not spectacular wind protection. Good snuggie. Good costume. Great for walking the dog, visiting coffee bars, rock concerts, LOTR Marathons. Wonderful for first dates. (Hey, you want someone who will accept you as you are, and for how great you look when you're prepping a major hike.) This item of clothing is handy as a costume, fashion statement, or last minute zombie apocalypse frantic grab at something epic. Not so good for the elements or Thru-Hiking.

It looks nice from far away but it's made of cheap material and feels like a thin hotel towel. There wasn't a bow like in the picture. Its a Velcro strap, which was a little disappointing but when I wear it for cosplaying i'm going to hide it. I can't sew myself so it was worth buying it for that, but if I could I wouldn't waste the money. If you can't sew like me and are looking for relatively cheap cosplay this works well enough
