This is a great set if you want full surround sound with a sound bar, especially if you have a Sony Bravia TV. The package is quite large and comes with everything you need inside the box. It takes a little bit of setting up so be prepared to spend a little while getting everything sorted and positioned in the right place. The subwoofer goes under the TV by the side of the sound bar as the lead isn’t that long between the soundbar and the subwoofer and needs to be connected in order to the soundbar to Work. On the plus side this also means you only need one plug for the two items. The rear speakers are controlled by a single flat unit that takes a wireless signal from the sound bar and also only needs one plug for both speakers. The system supports Dolby Atmos and even has a mode that turns stereo and single mono sound into a surround sound set up which works sometimes but depends on the source. But with Atmos it means that it can decode the signal on most modern streaming services and Blu-ray or 4K players and TV signals from things like Sky to give you a really good surround sound effect on all your content. This really comes into its own in movies where the sound is perfect perfectly placed around you. Unlike some sound bars, this does not have a speaker facing upwards but still manages to bounce the sound around above your head. It’s not quite as good as the Bose in terms of upward effect but it makes up for it with a more balanced surround sound instead. Like most modern sound bars it has a mode to help with speech when the source mix has a higher volume of music and you can’t hear the speaking as well, this works really well. It also has a new trick up its sleeve in terms of being able to use the TV as an extra speaker with some modern Bravia TVs, but it will depend on the model. With my Sony TV, it’s let me choose all the options and adjust the surround sound straight from the TV itself which is a lovely touch and not having to use a separate remote or menu system is a lot nicer. My TV is a few years old now as well so it should work well with at least a couple of generations of Bravia TVs. Sound quality is really good. The subwoofer really puts out a lot of bass so be aware of that before your neighbours start knocking on your door, you can adjust this through the TV as well alongside how loud or quiet you want the surround speakers to be. There’s an app that helps you with the setup, the Bravia connect app, which is also used for other devices. The set is more expensive than some of the smaller Sony sets, but it does provide a really good quality sound and Atmos support which those cheaper ones don’t. You’re also getting everything in the box.

It’s fantastic , good sound , easy to set up

I bought this to replace a Samsung Q990D that cost me around £1800 when I bought it 15 months ago, and following Samsngs incompetent release of corrupt firmware had rendered it faulty to the point of being useless. With this in mind, I did not have high expectations of the Sony, which I purchased from Amazon Warehouse for just over £400. On set up, I was initially slightly disappointed with the sound, but thought, "Well, you get what you pay for". After having a day to play with the settings and test what it could actually do, I am now blown away. My initial scepticism was due to the lack of up firing speakers and Sony claiming that it was a clever algorithm that would create a pseudo 3d effect from the existing speakers. As an audiophile, I hate when software is used to tinker with sound and prefer the reliance on the equipment.. I have a full 11.2 receiver set up with a top of the range receiver and high end speakers including ceiling speakers. My Sony soundbar is every bit as exciting with Atmos as this set up. The vertical surround engine upmix setting in the app is incredible. In summary, this is probably the best £400 I have ever spent. Movies, sports, my Xbox sound incredible through this amazing soundbar set up.

Great bit of kit. Connected via Bluetooth to tv. Surround sound is well balanced once set up for your room via app. Movies are an experience I’ve not had with any sound bar. Music is just awesome. Gaming I’ve not tried yet due to work load but if it’s anything like hearing movies then I’m in for a treat. Only had it for a week and have to have it on whilst watching any tv because if it’s off and just coming through the tv speaker the sound feels dead. YouTube music videos on all weekend are my favourite way of getting through the chore's as it’s like clubbing at home 💪🏻😀

I found the system straight forward to set up via the Sony app, which I had already on my phone due to having a Bravia 7 TV. Once every thing was connected, the app runs through the set up process step by step and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes. The Sound quality is very good, plenty of power and clarity for my medium size sitting room, and it gave a good 5.1 experience. Build quality is great and it looks the part. As it is on the side of Sony's budget range, I would say it is good value for the set up and sound you get. The only negatives as of to date, is the lag when controlling the volume, be it on the app or direct with the Tv remote, not a big deal but it is something I have noticed.

We already have the Sony Bravia TV which weve been very impressed with. So decided to save up and finish it off with the Sony Theatre system 6 - 5.1 surround system. Put simply, we are literally blown away by it. The sound is far beyond our expectations. Easy to set up with the TV and app on our phones. The 1000w output is way far beyond our needs, the bass unit is large but sounds amazing, everything is so crisp. Weve only watched one movie so far and that was impressive enough. We've enjoyed listening to our favourite tracks/albums through lossless streaming services (Apple Music) and we're rediscovering our favourite music all over again, old tracks brought to life through the surround sound system. The build quality is what you'd expect from Sony, including the design. Cabel Length is more than adequate for what we needed (we have a small lounge). All-in-all, we couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Im impressed with this sound system first time watch a movie last night and it s actually scares me same like in cinema, highly recommended
