Epica Waterproof Shower Curtain Liner for Bathroom, Metal Grommets (Clear)

*EDIT UPDATE It is now Dec. 2021 and my liner is still in like new condition when I purchased it in 2017, other than a couple of times dealing with hard water film which has nothing to do with the product itself. Where I have had to deal with mold/mildew in my apartment, I have never once had to deal with mold or mildew on this liner. It has also held up very well on a curved shower bar that hangs up at times when pulling the liner open, and a pretty rough and tumble kiddo that is not very easy on it. *Awesome durability on the rings* If I could give this 10 stars I would and that is something I have never said before.. Well worth the price.. Original review: I'm pretty picky about my liners, as I have a person in the household who tears through them like an unhappy artist with a drawing pad, so I was a bit hesitant to spend the money on this one. However, when I opened the package the first few things I noticed before getting it fully opened and hung up was #1. there was no funky chemical smell like the cheapys have. #2. The liner looked and felt, quite heavy and durable. #3. The reinforced stitching looked tight and heavyweight. After hanging it I found that the liner was nice and long, it lays tight against the bathtub even with one end wrapped around a medical bench, and the reinforcement around the eyelets was as nice and strong as my first impression while still folded. The liner is thick and sturdy, and you truly would not need a shower curtain to go with this unless you want one, it is that nice imho. I've had this liner up for 16 days, and where my old liner would try to get mildew on it constantly due to moisture in the bathroom, this liner is not showing any mildew on it so far. I do not foresee any immediate issues, unless one of my monkeys gets crazy in there, and I would happily recommend this liner to other people. If my thoughts change, I will update my review.

So far I love it! We were using a fabric curtain and keeping it free of soap scum and stains just finally got to be too much. Upgraded to this liner and it is amazing from the start, heavy and stays in place during showers, metal grommets, no nasty smell, great value as well, easy to install and fits perfectly in my shower. I am very picky about my shower curtain liner and I plan to stick with this one!

I had the worst problem with my previous shower curtain. It 'blew in' constantly and floated away from the edges of the shower surround. I have very high water pressure and water ended up everywhere. I was constantly pushing the shower curtain away from me. This curtain is very heavy duty and doesn't move an iota. The plastic smell is a bit heavy but I assume that it will fade with time. I am very pleased with this product. Update 10/17/2015 - The plastic smell (which smells like a beach toy) does dissipate rather quickly. I can't remember exactly how long it took but after a month's ownership, it is completely gone. I'd guess it was gone within a week but definitely within two weeks. This is the best shower curtain liner I've ever owned.. hands down. 4/1/2016 - Update: I've had this shower curtain six months and there's absolutely no evidence of mold, mildew or even soap scum. My bathroom is a very small room with poor ventilation so its more challenging for the water to evaporate.. which would normally encourage mildew. The plastic is as clear as the day I hung it, there's not even water streaks on it. This curtain is so affordable and performs so well, its worth every cent and then some. If there comes a day when the water does begin etching the plastic and it loses its clarity or mildew resistant properties, I'll buy this same curtain without hesitation. 11/1/2016 Update: i honestly thought I'd have to replace the curtain after a year's use but much to my surprise, it's still completely mildew free! The clarity of the plastic is starting to cloud slightly, likely from the minerals in the water but even the cloudiness is only apparent if you look for it. A year later, I still say it's the best shower curtain I've ever owned. Now if I could only find a mildew-free bath mat of equal quality.

I'm very satisfied with this shower curtain. It is heavy, hangs well, and seals the shower while in use. Important to note that it is as described: "mildew resistant" which does not mean that mildew can't or won't form on it. I bought this for a shower in a small bathroom with poor ventilation that gets daily use. And I live in southern Georgia, USA, where mold is a constant challenge. This curtain lasted a solid six months before I noticed some mold buildup along the bottom that started creeping up the folds. After a couple cleanings I just decided to buy a new one. I can live with paying twelve bucks every 6-8 months for a good, clean shower curtain. This one has worked better than any I've previously used for that bathroom.

I like these shower curtains. I first bought this in May 2018 and bought it again in January 2024. I use it as the sole shower curtain in my main bathroom in Florida. It hangs on a curved rod and hugs the side of the tub nicely. The clear vinyl is attractive and as clear as a window. It held up perfectly and withstood several washings. I got behind on keeping it clean, and the hard water marks did not come out after one machine washing so I replaced it after 5 1/2 years. I had much less issue with mold/mildew with this curtain than previous ones, but given the high humidity in this bath, my recollection is that I did have some. Spraying 50/50 vinegar and water then wiping down the curtain is an easy way to keep up it looking great. The replacement had a fairly strong vinyl smell, so I aired it out as directed on the packaging. Day 2 and the smell is gone. The curtain looks identical to the 2018 in terms of quality. The replacement curtain feels slick, so it may have a slight dusting of something that keeps the vinyl from sticking together too much in the packaging - not sure. I don't think it needs to be washed it before hanging. I also bought a 2nd frosted curtain. Same high quality. No slickness on that one; perhaps the texture prevents it from sticking together too much.

This is the absolute toughest shower curtain you'll ever buy! However, these have been treated with some chemical that prevents mold, mildew, soap scum, etc. from building up on it. The odor of this chemical is very strong and overpowering! It's so strong that for the first two to three days, it triggered my allergies so bad that I had to take my singulair, Benadryl and Allegra all at the same time in order to stop my constant sneezing and runny nose. The odor eventually spread throughout my apartment so I had to keep the bathroom door closed in order to prevent my dogs and cats from going inside. Yes, my German Shepherds and two cats get along fine. Anyway, thankfully by the 4th day, the odor subsided to a more tolerable level and I can now use it without any allergic reactions. Now, I am thoroughly impressed with the toughness of the curtain. However, I strongly suggest that you air it out in an area like your garage or car port so that you won't get any potential allergic reactions. I never had any allergic reactions to my skin. It was just nasal due to the odor. I'm actually going to buy another one so I can have a spare, just in case. I highly recommend it as long as you find a place away from direct sunlight to air it out so that the odor won't bother you. Other than that, I highly recommend it!

When I received this I was initially surprised to see that it was basically a slightly thicker sheet of polythene with metal eyelets. It’s more or less transparent so it fades into the background. However, I wasn’t expecting it to come with the metal hooks, that each have 5 metal balls along the top, making it very easy to slide along the shower rail and each one also clips into a groove which stops it coming out of the eyelet, So although I was initially disappointed with the quality of the curtain, it does the job.

It's almost a year now since I purchased this. Still like new. Easy to clean. I recommend this product.

There is nothing heavy duty about this item. It also looks nothing like the packaged shower curtain in the photos. The item I received has no branding to indicate it is in fact an "Epica" Shower Curtain Liner.

We bought this to see if it would last longer than any other kind we have bought. We’ve had this for about 4 months now and it has not stained or even started to go moldy. It’s very well made and ours it still clean and white
