Cleared my skin, saved my life, etc.
I have the most annoying skin. Like, super sensitive, blows up in weeping hives and rashes for no apparent reason level annoying. Most products break me out, especially sunscreens, but I’ve always just accepted it as the cost of protection or avoided sunscreen altogether (yikes, I know). Well, I bought this on a whim before a trip this summer after researching its ingredients and some brands. This seemed like the cleanest mineral sunscreen I could find - the rest had pore-clogging or otherwise irritating molecules or additives. My skin usually feels tight and dry but looks oily and bumpy, and never really responds right to anything. It always has some red bumps scattered about and smaller skin-colored bumps all over my face along with plentiful blackheads - which is all on a good day. After a week of using this, my skin was the clearest it’s been in… ever. Sunburn and burning sensation at application free (WHAT?) and long-lasting with a lovely satiny-matte sheen. It’s better than any foundation I’ve tried as far as achieving that your-skin-but-better look. I stopped wearing foundation altogether! I don’t even blot or apply powder! My skin feels and looks more like my skin with this on. My pores have gotten smaller and much less congested, and my skin in general so much less irritated. I wait until my moisturizer sinks in before applying, as it can be a bit drying, and this process delivers the perfect effect. I lost my first bottle and stopped using it for a bit (it’s not cheap, you know), attributing my newly infantile skin to a general lifestyle change, but sure enough, my skin went right back to its natural discomfort. As soon as I started wearing this again my skin was right back to its smooth, youthful glow. I swear people look at me differently. It’s like I got 2x hotter or something. It’s the first time in my almost 10 years of being a skincare fanatic (I’ve tried just about everything and researched just about every type of ingredient/product and their interactions, all to no avail - retinols had no effect no matter how long I stuck with them, barrier-building fatty acids made my bumps spread, exfoliating acids irritated my skin and made it more sensitive, satin pillowcases/washing pillowcases more often didn’t change anything, etc.) that I’ve finally achieved the skin of my dreams. My confidence has skyrocketed. I bought a king bed because I feel like a princess. Like Princess Mia in the Princess Diaries after her makeover. I LOVE YOU SUPERGOOP routine and tips, i only buy cruelty free and vegan (don’t tell me if any of these products aren’t cruelty free or vegan): morning: brush teeth BEFORE skincare! toothpaste is so bad for your skin my lip line cleared up so much rinse with cool water, blot dry on a paper towel or toilet paper, rosehip oil and either hemi-squalane or squalane from the Ordinary depending on how tight my skin feels. just a few drops of each well rubbed in, and i let it absorb while I do other morning chores and then put on this sunscreen as I do my makeup. night: 1. Trader Joe’s jojoba oil to remove makeup and this sunscreen (reluctantly, I feel naked without it) because it’s a wax, so it performs most similarly to sebum on the skin and actually penetrates the pore in a way most oils can’t. no stinging in the eyes, either! i’ll also use the Ordinary’s squalane cleanser at times for more control, as it’s a thicker consistency and thus easier to apply, but it’s not as efficient and clogs my pores. i wipe this off on a microfiber reusable makeup removal cloth with water if there’s a lot of residue on my skin. i wash this cloth OFTEN. 2. trader joe’s antioxidant cleanser - cheap, basic, i let it foam in my hands and then rub in and splash off with cool water. i pat dry with a paper towel or toilet paper, which has made a huge difference in my skin as opposed to using regular towels (even if you wash them after every use!) 3. i skin cycle, so here i either use the Ordinary’s retinol in squalane, their glycolic acid toner (which I then wash off after 10 seconds to avoid burning), or I go straight to the next step. 4. THE ORDINARY’s PYCNOGENOL!! when i remember to, i rub this in and wait for it to dry before applying moisturizer. it’s made a huge difference in the effectiveness of antioxidants and in healing/preventing any infection. it’s made a HUGE difference in what i presumed to be fungal acne one my forehead, which makes sense as it’s an anti-fungal agent, and my skin always feel so much more nourished when i wake up if i apply this before my moisturizer. it also smells like pine trees which is so yummy, as it’s a resin derivative. it really gives Twilight-core walk in the evergreens vibe realness 4. a couple drops of the Ordinary’s rosehip seed oil (so many antioxidants i keep tryna switch off because fatty acids don’t usually work well with my skin) and squalane (or hemi-squalane when the wait isn’t so dry) has been absolutely delicious and game changing. DROP THE DROPPER ONTO YOUR HAND AND NOT YOUR FACE DO NOT CONTAMINATE THE REST OF THE PRODUCT WITH YOUR SKIN’S MICRO-BIOTIC CULTURE THEYLL EAT THE FATTY ACID UP AND TURN THE OIL RANCID. i wake up smooth and glowing. like i snap the hoes back from bed, i look so fresh. the end of a rant nobody asked for but you read

Super clean, completely unscented, GREAT primer for mid-thirties skin
I love this sunscreen for so many reasons. It doesn't have any scent, it feels silky smooth when it goes on, it helps my makeup look great all day long, and it's super clean. When I say it doesn't have any scent, I mean it literally smells like NOTHING. It's not just "fragrance-free" or "unscented", it smells like there is nothing on your face. All other 100% mineral-based SPF facial products I've tried have a distinct sunscreen-y smell that this just does not. It also works as a really great primer for my mid-thirties skin. It goes on sooo smoothly but once it dries, it doesn't feel slick or oily anymore -- it is truly matte. With other products, face usually gets pretty oily by the end of the day, but not with this! It also really does minimize my pores and help my foundation go on smoother. By the end of the day, my makeup still looks fresh and not patchy. I also have some fine lines around my eyes and some deeper wrinkles across my forehead, but this product helps my foundation not settle into the cracks. I'm not sure it diminishes their appearance, but it certainly doesn't draw any more attention to them. It's also juuust tinted enough that it can be used on it's own if I'm having a light makeup day, but still want to look like I tried a bit.

SPF 40. It provides great sun protection while leaving a smooth
I really liked the Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40. It provides great sun protection while leaving a smooth, matte finish that helps control shine throughout the day. The texture is lightweight, blends easily, and even minimizes the look of pores. It works well under makeup and didn’t irritate my skin. Definitely a great option for daily use, especially for oily or combination skin.

A Game-Changer for My Skin
I’ve been on the hunt for a sunscreen that offers broad-spectrum protection, works well under makeup, and helps control my oily skin, and I finally found it with Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40. Lightweight and Non-Greasy This sunscreen is incredibly lightweight and blends seamlessly into the skin. It leaves a matte finish that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy, making it perfect for those with oily or combination skin like mine. I also love that it has a slight tint that evens out my skin tone without looking like I’m wearing makeup. Pore-Perfecting Primer What sets this product apart from other sunscreens is how well it works as a primer. It blurs my pores and creates a smooth base for foundation, helping my makeup last longer throughout the day. I’ve noticed that my skin stays matte for hours, even in humid conditions. 100% Mineral Formula I prefer mineral sunscreens, and this one delivers with 100% mineral protection. It uses zinc oxide to shield the skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays, and I haven’t experienced any irritation or breakouts since using it. No White Cast One of the biggest issues with mineral sunscreens is the dreaded white cast, but Supergoop! has nailed the formula. It blends in effortlessly without leaving any white residue, making it suitable for a wide range of skin tones. Perfect for Sensitive Skin As someone with sensitive skin, I’m always cautious about what I apply to my face. This sunscreen is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and gentle on my skin. I haven’t experienced any irritation or clogged pores, which is a huge win. Eco-Conscious Packaging I also appreciate that Supergoop! is committed to sustainability. The packaging is sleek, minimal, and made from eco-friendly materials, aligning with my values. Final Thoughts Supergoop! Mineral Mattescreen SPF 40 has become a staple in my daily skincare routine. It offers excellent sun protection, controls oil, and doubles as a primer. If you’re looking for a sunscreen that keeps your skin matte and fresh all day, I highly recommend giving this one a try. This sunscreen is definitely a standout in the crowded market of sun protection products!

Impressed
This did not sting my eyes, even after a few hours. It did not dry out my skin. The other Goop sunscreen is very drying and does not offer any moisturizing cream properties. This I can put directly on my face without a layer of Cerave moisturizing cream. Does not make my skin super dry. Feels like nothing. Did not sting my super sensitive eyes. I was very impressed. It has a tint and if you have oily skin, you should consider using blotting papers (or the public restroom toilet paper covers work perfectly as blotting papers too) and reapplying to patches that may have melted off. It’s also good to reapply sunscreen every few hours, especially if you are sweating and wiping it off because you are in a hot location. Worth trying. I like it a lot more than the other Goop sunscreen that comes in this bottle. Only con: this is expensive. But it’s money well spent, especially if you use things like Tretinoin (spelling?) to try to reduce wrinkles. Spread this on your face and neck and hands. Wear a broad rimmed hat. Wear sunglasses. Monitor the UV index and get back into the shade / take a break from the sun in 30 min increment and reapply sunscreen. Use a cheaper sunscreen for body and neck like Neutrogena Sheer Ultra Dry Touch. Apply lots of sunscreen; be generous. You might be sad you did not get a tan but you will be super thankful compared to getting a painful, ugly sunburn.
