I really like these speakers. They sound and look great. They also have a light effect that can be turned off with the app. Yes there is a LG app for them. My only concern is the side speakers being punctured if carrying around in a backpack. I wish they came with a cap to protect.

Good clean sound

I was excited to get this, however, i was disappointed upon receiving it as the box was open, and the battery was almost totally drained. I searched on the LG product page and it doesn't say what type of battery it uses, but it appears to be lithium. Anyone in the know will tell you, you should never run lithium batteries to ZERO charge (20% at the minimum) as it GREATLY shortens the life of the battery. I don't know how long this unit was sitting like that, or if it had been turned on and used, so only time will tell. Everything works normally, and the sound is better than I had expected for what it is. The overall sound is a little "brighter" than my 1st Gen Bose SoundLink Flex, and I have to attribute that to it's physical size as the Flex is slightly larger in size than the Xboom Grab. As for portability, hands down, the Xboom Grab takes it over my Bose Flex. All in all, I have to give it 3 stars simply because the box was opened on arrival, and the low state of charge the battery had out-of-the-box, which i say again, will GREATLY affect the life of the non-user-replaceable battery. I will revise this review if LG chooses to make things right for me, as I do not believe this is a huge ask after paying $104.99 for it.

Love this speaker so far

Buen producto, LG y Will.i.am se pasaron con esta nueva linea XBOOM, los bajos estan brutales, el diseño ni se diga, es de los más bonito que hay. Le he dado bastante uso en el poco tiempo que la tengo, la recomiendo si quieres tener algo diferente pero que este actualizada como lo es Auracast™.

Why on earth do I need to download a dumb up in order to connect and set up the speaker? Ridiculous. Dumb and a waste. Not everything needs a freaking app.

Nice little shower speaker. Bought it per the rtings.com recommendation. I was very disappointed when I first listened to it, but it sounds MUCH better after switching from the default "bass boost" mode to the "standard" mode. Thank you techradar for pointing that out in your review. Docking one star because the app you need to use to change the settings to something sane requires you to create an account.

what and excellent choose... The speaker sounds pretty amazing. The delivery was fast, it took around one week to be at my place.

Very good bluetooth speaker, sound clarity is superb , need better app support

Great speaker it would be perfect if it could save an auracast broadcast while it can connect to a broadcast it disconnects if the app is closed with no way to save it this defeats the whole point of auracast for me. Also the app needs a account so that's another star lost
