What kind of cutting is this? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd? What is better to give a rabbit?

I've been buying timothy hay from Small Pet Select for about a year now. The cut depends on the time of year. They sell 1st cut and 2nd cut. This box was 2nd cut. It is still a much better quality then the local chain stores. And I love that it is delivered right to my house in a great storage box. I've noticed lots of brown parts in this hay. Is that normal? It seems to get brown very quickly.

Hay will have some brown in it which is normal, although the second cutting has been very consistent in containing very little brown. If you feel that the hay has an unusual amount of brown please contact us and we make sure to resolve right away, thanks.

It's hand-picked and packaged in small batches. It's also 100% Timothy hay. Really excellent quality- my bunny gives it two ears up! I used to get the 2nd cutting, but now I get the 1st cutting since it is coarser so, IMO, better for the dental health of my bunny. Great company with excellent cutomer service & FAST shipping!
